"First time in, and an amazing experience. We used a few coupons which slowed things down but no one ever got upset...not even other customers. Staff was super friendly, went above and beyond for us really. Food was great! I like how it's tacos and burritos but they also have chicken strips for picky kids (1 of ours did get them, lol) Definitely better than chipotle based on flavor, not sure if you can add extras to make it physical comparable to Chipotle, but I'll go here again for sure, Ch lost our business the first time we went! And the shrimp!!! I literally can't compliment enough about our visit!"

"All food was flavorful came out in a timely manner. My favorite was the grilled shrimp taco, it came with grilled corn on top that added a punch of sweetness to the taco. The steak taco was also very good. The salsa bar was stacked with a a yummy salsa verde chipotle salsa. A shrimp taco à la cart for $5 seems a bit steep, however, the flavors justify the price."

"I didn’t eat in, just did a pickup. I got the taco trio, which included a Baja shrimp taco, a breaded fish taco, and a mahi mahi taco. The best one by far was the breaded fish, followed by the shrimp, with the mahi mahi coming in last. While the mahi mahi was good, the shrimp and breaded fish were significantly better. I found both the mahi mahi and shrimp to have a spicy kick. The guy who handed me my food was really fast and super friendly. I would definitely come back, but only for the breaded fish tacos!"

"5/5, 100/100. Not a thing out of place. Perfect service, they asked me if I needed help right when I walked in. Accommodated to my modification needs perfectly. They didn’t let my food get stolen(like other places with easy pickup stations) which means they have adequate staffing. Restrooms are kept perfectly clean and well stocked, with even a coat rack and a urinal to prevent mess. Tidy eating areas. Chefs that pay attention and make the order properly.I am not keto but I love that they offer the switch to keto tortillas for free, as they are tastier and prevent me from having constipation from wheat and corn starch.Dietary restrictions: Keto cheese tortillas, very tasty and low carb"

"I recently tried the fish taco especial at Rubio's and was pleasantly surprised by the large, juicy pieces of fish. Despite some difficulties finding the restaurant, the unique layout of the shopping center made it convenient to access Rubio's both from inside and outside the mall. The self-serve salsa bar is back, with the delicious jalapeno lime salsa being a highlight. The chips were crispy and perfectly salted, making for a tasty accompaniment to the fish tacos. "Don’t become hesitant to visit this location. I have driven by it numerous times due to noticing not many people are there around 8-9pm and I am now regretting past decisions. The staff is friendly, and their portions of protein are hefty. I am. Rubio fan and traditionally visit a Ventura or Bakersfield locations regularly. My first time here and if I was a local I would visit often. Employees, thank you for a refreshing meal. I was really hungry, lol. Picture reflect chicken tacos gone gone, tortilla soup was good, rate it about a 7/10 and tacos 8/10, only because I took time eating they have gotten cold fast, it’s cold in here which reflects in colder food as well. Overall I am satisfied."

"I’m visiting from out of town, and I actively sought out Rubio’s because of multiple previous positive experiences. Of course, I ordered the original fish tacos. Unfortunately, tonight’s experience needed some improvement: the air conditioning wasn’t working; there was no ice available for drinks; and the fish in the tacos was folded in half before frying (almost like a ball) which is just not compatible with a taco. I’ll be back, though."

"However, there was another issue when I noticed that my order had been entered incorrectly as a mango avocado salad instead of the avocado corn taco salad that I had actually ordered. Despite showing them the menu item, the staff insisted that they did not have the salad I wanted and suggested removing the mango from my order. When I finally received my food, it was not what I had originally ordered. Despite showing them a picture of the menu from my phone, the staff seemed unconcerned and offered to remake the dish that they had told me they did not have. Frustrated with the service and errors in my order, I requested a refund for the incorrect meal. The lack of apology or accountability from the staff left me feeling unsatisfied with my experience, and I do not plan on returning to this location. I hope they improve their service in the future."

"Love love love Rubios but dislike this particular location! Went on the weekend where there were only young teenagers working (no offense to the teenagers) but they did not care about the quality of the service they gave. Cashier gave tons on attitude when we addressed items missing from our order and being prepared incorrectly! Manager on duty stepped in to fixed service and correct missing items! If I want my yummy avocado corn taco salad I will be driving to the bell location ???????????"

"Living out of state, we try to visit Rubios whenever we're in San Diego. The fish tacos are just sooooo good and the menu variety pretty stacked. "Okay so I love Rubio's. When I first discovered them I was addicted to the fish taco especial's. The pesky combo was my go to meal every time I visited. Well now I've been to Rubio's so many times I realize that I pretty much like ALL their food. Currently is the coastal trio that I'm loving. So this is the first time I went to this Rubio's because I recently started working near this one and getting lunch daily at Gravity Heights can put you in the poor house. So I suggested to a CO worker that we go here one day and we can have a glass of wine here as well! Well we were beyond disappointed because this location only serves beer (don't get me wrong I'm a beer longer too), which is a bummer because we love the food and how close it is and it would save us A TON of money IF we decided to have a glass of two of wine at lunch time. Of course my job frowns upon that and we have taken that into consideration. Anyway the cashier was very hard to understand, not just because of the mask, that's understandable- but he mumbled and spoke very low. Not unfriendly though. All in all it was a good experience. Always love the food"

"I am a frequent customer to rubios and i got the worst service today which ruined my night out. We were warned we might for 30 minutes which we agreed to. After 30 minutes i got my order, asked whether they put utensils in and left. We drove away to enjoyour food to find our the lid was big on the container, didnt close properly and spilled. I found out they did not put utensilseither. Such a poor customer service. We had to drive all the way back to town to get utensils from somewhere else. Afterwaiting for 30 minutes we were starving and it was extremely unpleasant to have half the food and no utensils. My favoriterestaurant is not the favorite anymore."

"Really good salads, tacos Tex-mex meals. Seem to be making nod to sustainability as they promote sustainable seafood in their fish tacos. Vegan options are hard to find, but available if you ask. To-go orders in biodegradable containers but with plastic containers for salsas, plastic bag and lids and straws also plastic. I asked staff if the plastic was bio-plastic or biodegradable they said they didn’t think so. There’s also nothing written on the bag about it being compostable. Food for here is on reusable plates and bottle pecan drinks are available (easily recyclable). Waste area mixes the leftover food, plastics and paper cups and napkins so maybe it is all compostable. The Burrito especial with grilled veggies was delicious, fresh and tasty. It came with tortilla chips. I like that you can choose your own salsas and toppings (for here just put it straight on your plate to reduce waste)."

"I love the food! It was so fresh and healthy for a restaurant with many options for those with food sensitivity. But even more amazing was the sweet helpful and super friendly and thoughtful young woman who works behind the register. I never had such a wonderful caregiver help me order! She was patient and understood my daughters food sensitivities. It's like she put herself in my shoes! I wish I remember her name because she deserves an increase! "The food was excellent, with both dishes being flavorful and served in generous portions. The customer service was outstanding—friendly and professional. My only concern with this restaurant is the cleanliness of the dining area, particularly the salsa station. I understand that things can get hectic, but I noticed two different employees walked by, acknowledged its condition, yet did nothing about it, even while one was busy wiping down tables. "It’s a nice restaurant however whenever I order online the order is wrong or missing items. The last order I had the forgot my side of beans and gave me a child bean and cheese instead of adult. The bowls we got had hard crunchy rice and the portion sizes were significantly less. Idk if it’s certain employees because the orders are usually worse when the younger teenage men are working, however the quality care is just not there. I like rubios but this location is not consistent it used to be but it’s no longer a reliably good meal."

"I've been a fan of Rubio's for 30 years. My absolute favorite is the langostino lobster, but everything on the menu is delicious. This time, I ordered a steak taco and a shrimp taco, and it was the perfect surf and turf combination. My nephew loves their bean and cheese burritos, and I think it says a lot when a restaurant can make a bean and cheese burrito that people enjoy ordering. My husband had the California bowl with cauliflower rice and said it was fantastic. Every order was fresh and flavorful. We always make sure to visit Rubio's at least once whenever we're in California."

"We both got the coastal trio the original fish taco was one of the best crispy fish tacos I've ever had the batter was great fish was fresh and had a great crunch but not overcooked. The blacked mahi mahi taco tasted super fresh and it was unique withits own chipotle sauce and had corn and onions so it was peppery not to spicy and sweet. The shrimp taco came with avacadoinside it and they were all great in their own individual way the chips and beans I added to the meal were very good as well andthe salsas very good also highly recommended."
