"The Birria Tacos at La Cita are truly incredible! I order them often, and they never disappoint. I've tried these tacos from several different restaurants in my area, but La Cita is by far the best! The tacos are always perfectly crispy, which I love. I also appreciate that they place the onions right on the tacos instead of just sprinkling them on top like many other places do. I would give La Cita a perfect 10/10 and highly recommend it!"

"I have been coming to Seaside in the summer my entire life. My family orders from other Mexican inspired restaurants in the area and for years I have been disappointed with their food. Monte 's is a blessing. The moment I stepped foot inside to pick up my food I could tell this place was authentic. The food followed through. My tinga tostadas were one of my favorite meals I have eaten in months. They were absolutely up to the highest quality bar I have for comparison. The quesadillas were also outstanding. The veggie was delicious, though my uncle complained that the shrimp one did not have enough shrimp in it. The tacos all had good tortillas. The carnitas tasted good, it had a full flavor to it. The chicken in the tacos was dry, but the provided sauces were good. You can tell the chips are made in-house. They were very good. The guac was smoother than I expected. My family wanted empanadas. They were fine, but I didn 't expect anything special on that front from a Mexican place. On the whole this was not the best Mexican food I have ever eaten, but it so far surpasses its competition and does certain things such as the tostadas, quesadillas, and chips well enough that I am giving it 5 stars. I am ashamed it took me this long to discover Monte 's in Seaside."

"3.5 stars actually. My mom suggested we try this Mex place although I had another in mind but I'm always picking the places so I tried hers this time. Situated across the Bergen County Jail, it's a very small place with virtually no place to park except for about 5 cars in their lot. Once inside it's just as small with only room for about 8-10 tables and there is no mistaking you're in a Mexican restaurant, it's very representative in it's decor and colors, which I like. It's a BYO which is a very big plus for me so we sat back and had a couple of beers as the server took longer than they should to come back over. Once he did I showed him that through my check in, I got a free guac app and boy was I glad I did. It is a very nice size for a freebie and extremely good. The salsa and chips they give you to start were also very good. The salsa is not chunky at all, it's completely smooth with a nice kick but not overwhelming. For dinner I was in the mood for mole which is the real test for a Mexican restaurant. I got a huge plate of very sub-par yellow rice and pinto beans along with 2 large chicken enchiladas w/ red mole (I don't see it on the menu anymore) It def had a more heat than a lot of the moles I've had around but it seemed to be lacking in the complex flavors it should have and I think it was the quality of the chocolate they used to make it, it was pretty good but I wasn't satisfied. My mom ordered the churrasco (skirt steak) with a salad instead of rice and beans. The steak consisted of 2 large pieces with grilled onions and peppers that she said was excellent. I didn't taste it because I refuse to eat steak that tastes like shoe leather (cooked medium well) although she insists it wasn't tough. Portions were plentiful, atmosphere was nice, service was nice but took way too long at times and food was just good. Don't think I'll return before I check out other spots first"

"The food and service were so terrible that I couldn't even finish my meal. My friend ordered a shrimp quesadilla and ended up getting sick. My husband tried the chimichanga, but the ground beef tasted off. I ordered chicken nachos, but the waitress brought me shrimp instead, despite me telling her I’m allergic. She said it was all they had. I also ordered a ranchera combination that was supposed to come with rice, beans, steak, and grilled cactus. I had to ask the waitress for utensils, and she seemed surprised and asked if I needed a fork. It was confusing since I wasn't sure how I was supposed to eat without one. Throughout our visit, she never asked if we needed anything else. Overall, it was a disappointing experience."

"Wow what can I say!? I came in not expecting much. I truly only selected this place because my friend wanted burritos and this place had some decent reviews on Yelp and was walking distance from my hotel in Tampa, so I ended up there. But holy COW was I pleasantly surprised! First of all, the burritos we got were amazing! I got stuff I'd never heard of before on a burrito some had french fries in them, I think! Anyway, the food was great and affordable, too, but that's not what got this place 5 stars instead of 4. The STAFF! (namely, Paula). She was all smiles when I walked in (just like me) and I began asking a million questions. She not only kept up with me and helped out with recommendations, but was right on the money with her suggestions, too! She was running around doing a hundred things, but made me feel right at home and like I was exactly where I needed to be. Introduced me to Jocelyn behind the bar who helped me out with a beer while I waited for the food to be ready to go, and Gabby and Kimmy were at the bar to back up Paula's suggestions, too. Just an overall great experience for a place I expected to just walk in and walk out of. I got great food, great service, and and overall wonderful experience all just a short walk from the Marriott on the water in Tampa!"

"Great atmosphere! Tasty dishes! Service wasn’t bad. I received my spinach side several minutes after all my groups’ meals were served- a bit inconvenient. However, all waiters and waitresses were attentive and noticeably moving at a fast-pace. A drawback of this establishment is only one stall is available, at least this is the case for the men’s restroom. The ladies’s room was locked, and I really needed to go! Anyway, I do suggest you stop by if you’re craving Mexican Cuisine! See menu attached."

"The food was very good. Diana seemed a bit reserved and distant; I felt like I might have been bothering her. However, she might just be learning how to interact with customers or perhaps she was having an off day. She did check in with us each time, asking if we needed anything else. We weren’t particularly demanding, but back to the food—the steak taco was delicious, while the shrimp taco had only three shrimp in it. It was good, too. I definitely plan on returning, but next time I’ll order three steak tacos. I think more rice and refried beans would be great as well. I managed to eat two out of the three tacos: two shrimp and one steak taco, Mexican style. I love Mexican food, and the steak taco was the highlight!"

"I was there this past weekend...Very dissapointed with the service and food, I am mexican so I know what food is supposed to taste like, asked for Huevos Rancheros but got a lump of rice and beans with 2 fried eggs on top, no sauce and they threw in a couple of thick hand made tortilla that were half way cooked. I would be ashamed to call this mexican food, plus the price listed in the menu was not the same I got when paying the bill and even worst I presented my credit card which they took out of the building around the corner...I was completely freaked out about that, but the server was totally indifferent about me asking why my card was taken out of the restaurant. Also while eating a homeless person walked in asking for money, I called the server but completely ignored me, looks like she does not speak english and did not want to get involved in this even though it was taking place inside her restaurant."

"This experience was incredibly frustrating. We waited a long time to be seated, then spent 25 minutes waiting to sit outside at empty tables. After that, we waited over 45 minutes for our food. When we decided to leave, the waiter told us not to go because our food was finally on its way. To top it off, the manager seemed more interested in looking good than providing any real help. This was definitely not worth my money, and I didn't leave a tip. If you want to succeed in the service industry, customer service needs to be a priority. I will absolutely never return to this restaurant or recommend it to anyone! On a positive note, the bill arrived quickly, like a flash."

"This was our second time there. We made our reservation for a table outside because it was an option. When we checked in the hostess rudely told us they didn’t take reservations for outdoor seating fun that we’d were lucky because a table was available. OpenTable should remove the outdoor seating option when making a reservation. The food was ok, two people ordered the fajitas which were overpriced and the meat was tough and overall not an enjoyable experience. Neither liked their food. We probably won’t be back."

"I enjoyed every aspect of my visit. The only issue I encountered was that I wasn't able to make a reservation. I tried to make one and never received a confirmation email from OpenTable. When I arrived at the restaurant the next day, I learned that they only accept reservations for parties of six or more. I wish I had been informed of this beforehand. Nonetheless, it was an overall positive experience."

"First timer. Our online order showed 4:15. Got a text at 4:10. Arrived at 4:12. I wish I had wonderful things to say but my family and I all came to the same conclusion about our experience.The Cubana was really soggy. Add a cup of cinnamon to Mylanta, and this was the consistency of the horchata. Chicken tortilla soup had a black curly hair in it.The food overall did not seem fresh. ? For the amount of money paid, we should have had better tasting quality food. I am very disappointed. Much of the food we purchased went to waste!"
