"Excellent food and our waiter was fantastic as well. My biggest complaint was how there was a 25 minute wait to get a table. Once the table was available, I noticed it was the table with the high chairs (which is difficult for me to sit on given my some health issues). I told them I had booked a table in the main dining room and they said that one isn’t available and he couldn’t give me a timeframe of when one would be available. We finally got seated at the right table but I’m just surprised by the long wait when I had a reservation for three people from weeks ago. Still an amazing restaurant and always recommend this place!!"

"Definitely priced and geared towards tourists. I knew I should be concerned when I ordered a nearly 20 dollar martini up and it came with ice chips and the olives did not have pimento’s. The special was cioppino which I usually would get….but not for $69.00! I can get it in San Francisco for nearly half that. They have an extensive wine list with high end wines. But the wines by the glass are ironically lower end. Food was just okay. The servers however were gracious and attentive which is why I rated it 3 stars. Won’t be back. No volveré."

"This is the establishment that downtown Burlingame needed! The ambiance is perfect to relax with a glass of wine. They have pleasant music playing in the background and somehow the acoustics of the space made it easy to converse without having to talk loud. They offered me a complimentary sparkling wine as soon as I sat down! The wine selection is huge, even though I didn't know much about particular wines, I described what I liked to the owner Jason and he ordered delicious wines for me. The staff was very friendly and the open layout, high ceilings, and seating areas are very inviting without feeling pretentious. I love outdoor seating and this place has a small outdoor patio in the back. They offer small plates that pair well with wine. I tried one of the deserts and it hit the spot. Downtown Burlingame finally has a wine bar and Velvet 48 nailed it."

"We had such a lovely anniversary date here last night. The service and attention to detail is impeccable. From the personalized and signed menus to the beautiful dessert, they think of every way to make your evening special. Our server, Courtney, was amazing and offered wonderful suggestions and checked on us just the right amount. The views are beautiful, the food is great and innovative, the wine selection is impressive. Highly recommend! Especially for a special occasion (let them know what the occasion is when you make a reservation)."

"Sommelier was wonderful. Unfortunately that was the only thing. Service was extremely slow despite being at 20% occupancy. Whoever was in charge of filleting and removing the bones from the Dover Sole must have been his first time doing it. Every bite had a bone in it. Mentioned it to waiter who did not seem to care and did nothing about it."

"Have eaten in the restaurant and gotten takeout from here for over 15 years but never again. My kids are home from college for a long weekend and before they head back we decided to go to Lombardi 's for a family dinner. After apps we ordered dinner. I chose from the daily specials menu the stuffed veal chop. The waiter asked Salad or pasta which that? I chose pasta. What type of pasta and what kind of sauce? I replied rigatoni and vodka. The meal came. It was fine. A little fatty and too much cheese but besides that it was good. When the check came I noticed that the veal was billed at $56. I could have sworn that it was priced $40 something on the menu. I went to double check and sure enough it was listed on the menu at $43. I asked the waiter why I was charged an additional $13 over menu price and he apologized and went to look for the manager. He returned 15 minutes later and handed me the corrected bill. The veal was now only overpriced at $49 this time. I asked to speak to the manager and the waiter asked me to find him at the bar (why the customer goes to the manager and not vice versa is beyond me). I found the manager sitting at the bar eating and watching tv and asked why the corrected bill was still $6 over the menu price. He explained that the menu was wrong and should have said $49. He went on to explain how he hooked me up by not charging me more for upgrading from tomato sauce to vodka sauce. Something that would normally incur a $7 surcharge. He then told me that he would have to instruct the waiter on informing customers that pasta sides don 't get a choice. Charged $13 over menu price. Corrected to only $6 over menu price. Had to go to the manager at the bar to be informed how this was actually taking care of me. Waiter was a nice guy, not his fault. Still got a19% tip. Waiter was great, food wasn 't bad but I 'm done with this place based solely on the managers scam, laziness and attitude."

"Love this restaurant and hadn't eaten upstairs in a few decades. Had a terrific meal up there as well. Great servers Rick and Pat. Attentive without being too present. Delicious veal, salmon, and Bronzino dishes. Shrimp scampi not quite as good, but might have just been an off night for it. Always a warm and welcoming environment. Thank you, Del Rio!!"

"We practically come here generally for views and atmosphere. Even thought menu is always prefixed here , it’s not the best. Ironically we loved the most bread, appetizer and raster carpaccio. The rest of the dishes did not have any choices for starch. Main course just was so so, to be honest. Loved some Asian flavors. What was irritating 18% were added, which is still illegal in California and frankly announcing. Even if you call that as a service charge, still has to be per our discretion. And yes, all desserts were terrible. Make some cakes please! Thank you"

"I will say that our waiter Jeff was awesome professional......... That being said, they are obviously under staffed, and the kitchen was so far behind; we waited 2 hours to get our dinner, and once we did, the ribeye that I ordered medium rare, was more like a dry medium Plus.....I had them take it off the bill, which Jeff was more than accommodating...... So I think I am done with Vinter Grill...... But if you do go, be sure to ask for Jeff for your waiter."

"In the fall of 2017 we came here to celebrate the boss’s birthday. The food and the service were mediocre. What you are dropping $100 per head on dinner you expect something a little more than mediocre. I received a very nice email from Tony Foreman the proprietor asking specifically about my complaints. I responded ends and the following emails he copied his minion, Will Napier. In Mr. Forman‘s email, he promised that the next time we plan to dine there I should let him know in advance and he would make our experience a lot better. He also seemed to suggest a bottle of wine on the house with the help of the wine steward. Now you have to understand that we live on “ that small little island in the Pacific” and don’t get to Baltimore very often. We were planning on returning just six months ago, again for the boss’s birthday. I emailed him in advance along with a copy of our previous emails. In the next emails I was passed down to a woman in the office who asked when my reservation was for. I told her and also asked if one of my favorite managers, who I knew well, still work there. No response from either the woman in the office, Will Napier, or Mr. Foreman. The evening of the reservation came, and we were seated at our table with little or no recognition of anything. Just two people walking in off the street and asking to be seated for dinner. Although the service was a little better this time, and less confused, my review of the food remains the same, just mediocre. No special help or offer from the wine steward, and basically no recognition of any previous emails or promises. Would I return? I don’t think so."

"This is the second year in a row that I came to the restaurant for my birthday on my own, and I was once again treated absolutely beautifully. The halibut special was incredible, and the bar nailed my request for a Hemingway daiquiri. My server, Drew, was engaging and friendly and made sure I had everything that my heart desired. Thank you so much!"

"positiw, our waitress was really nice, eating was very good. con bar service was terrible. it took 15 minutes to get our cocktails, and the explanation was that they run low on the glasses. I've never heard that before. then we ordered a bottle of wine with our escapes. Surprisingly, the glasses came away immediately, but lasted 20 minutes to get the bottle. we were almost done when it finally came."

"Yes, I am spoiled typically going twice a year to Italy and getting fantastic food there. It felt to me like Firenze has a good menu and uses all the right ingredients but are slightly lacking in putting it all together. The Carpaccio, yes it should have a dash of lemon to bring out the flavors but here it was so much that the lemon was taking over. And the Gnocchi with mushrooms was okay but curiously bland. Previous visits have been better, so perhaps just a night when the chef didn’t fully stay on top of what the kitchen prepared? The Tiramisu didn’t disappoint, it was very tasty."

"Our first time. Excellent meal. Very well prepared. Beet and burrata appetizer was delicious. Branzino also very good. Halibut a little over done. Apple tarte dessert was unusually done …very tasty. We arrived and were seated at a table for two.. a little cramped. We asked to be moved to a larger table and was accomodated with a larger table with a good view of the beach/ocean. Attentive server and hostess. A little too pricey to be a frequent dining destination."

"My wife and I both had the Roast Duck, which was very good. I had the Caesar Salad which was excellent. She had the Lobster Bisque special, which she enjoyed. We shared the Apple Strudel with vanilla ice cream for dessert excellent as well. The only negative was that we requested some extra triple sec sauce to accompany the Duck and were charged an additional It is sad that Covid prices and shortages have forced restaurants to impose such petty charges, especially since the sauce accompanying the Duck was not adequate. On the upside, service was attentive and we enjoyed the casual, comfortable, upscale ambience. We look forward to dining there again."

"The service was exceedingly slow. This is not the first time we have had this experience. This one certainly confirmed our decision to not return. We were also surprised by the mandatory tip that is included on the bill. While I'm familiar with charges, this is the first time I've seen I feel that is egregious, especially considering the poor service that came along with it"

"A bit disappointed! First, we love coming to Lettuce Entertain You restaurants as they always have top tier staff and food so we wanted to try this place for the first time. I had made a reservation for the patio specifically and as soon as we arrived the host said sorry there was no patio space.. was a nice evening outside so was bummed to sit inside. After about 5 minutes he sat us at a table in the bar area up against a wall/bussing and register area. It took almost 10 minutes to get water and then another 5 for a “temporary” waitress to come over, which is how she introduced herself. We ordered a glass of wine and got bread. Eventually our “real” waitress came over and asked if we wanted food so we ordered a pizza and a pasta. Pizza came out first and then when the pasta came the food runner literally threw the plate on the table and walked away. Did not get checked on until we were ready to leave. Food left a lot to be desired. What’s upsetting is the table next to us got a waiter that explained the entire menu, offered great suggestions, and was super friendly and welcoming. Call it bad luck, bad timing, who knows, but did not leave us wanting to come back again!"

"Service great. All waiters and waitstaff worked well together ensuring myself and others at my table always had still or sparkling water. Salt on tables but no pepper-would think makes sense to have both on table (with pepper being fresh ground)-when ask they gladly come and provide. Tables relatively small and quickly gets crowded with entrees, an appetizer and a few alcohol beverages. Went on a Friday night and had a “lounge” feel to it with lively crowd and decently loud music. Do not expect a quiet intimate place for dining"
