"A bit disappointed! First, we love coming to Lettuce Entertain You restaurants as they always have top tier staff and food so we wanted to try this place for the first time. I had made a reservation for the patio specifically and as soon as we arrived the host said sorry there was no patio space.. was a nice evening outside so was bummed to sit inside. After about 5 minutes he sat us at a table in the bar area up against a wall/bussing and register area. It took almost 10 minutes to get water and then another 5 for a “temporary” waitress to come over, which is how she introduced herself. We ordered a glass of wine and got bread. Eventually our “real” waitress came over and asked if we wanted food so we ordered a pizza and a pasta. Pizza came out first and then when the pasta came the food runner literally threw the plate on the table and walked away. Did not get checked on until we were ready to leave. Food left a lot to be desired. What’s upsetting is the table next to us got a waiter that explained the entire menu, offered great suggestions, and was super friendly and welcoming. Call it bad luck, bad timing, who knows, but did not leave us wanting to come back again!"

Our waitress wasn’t up to par , perhaps to many tables to service , since we were sitting outside the noise level was high. View menu

Food was amazing. The bread was some of the best we have had and the Cavatelli was to die for. They were very accommodating to seatbour group outside. Emma was an amazing server and took very good care of us. We will be back in the future.

Osteria via stato is one of my favorite places to go when I’m in Chicago. Every meal I’ve had here has been top notch and last night was no different. I had a wonderful hand rolled pasta with fennel sausage, spinach and tomatoes. I added ciabatta bread for dipping and of course a glass or two of wine. Aldo was my server and he was delightful.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
