"I recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Ramen Taka, and it was quite a delightful experience. Upon arrival, we were pleased to find that there was no wait, and we were promptly seated, which is always a plus when you're hungry and craving some delicious ramen. We decided to start with their miso ramen, and I must say it was a flavorful journey for the taste buds. The broth had a deep, rich flavor that was undeniably enjoyable. However, for our personal taste, it was just a tad on the salty side. The balance between saltiness and umami was slightly skewed towards saltiness, which might not suit everyone's palate. One unique aspect of Ramen Taka is their use of digital menus on your phone. While this adds a modern touch to the dining experience, it can be a little challenging if you're used to the traditional printed menus. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's a step towards embracing technology in the restaurant industry. One interesting feature I appreciated was the availability of two different sizes for the ramen bowls. This allows diners to choose according to their appetite, which is a thoughtful touch. In terms of logistics, the parking is situated at the back of the store, which can be convenient for those arriving by car. The staff at Ramen Taka were friendly and accommodating, which enhanced our overall dining experience. In conclusion, Ramen Taka offers a satisfying ramen experience with a few quirks. The miso ramen, while delicious, leaned towards being slightly saltier than our preference. The digital menu system might take a bit of getting used to, but it adds a modern twist to the dining experience. If you're in the mood for ramen and don't mind a slightly saltier broth, Ramen Taka is worth a visit, especially if you appreciate the convenience of different bowl sizes and friendly service."

"Taishoken exceeded my expectations in almost every way. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and seated promptly, setting the stage for a wonderful dining experience. The staff was very efficient. Our food arrived surprisingly quickly, allowing us to satisfy our stomachs without much delay. The attention to timing and the staff's dedication to providing prompt service truly made a positive impact on our overall experience. The noodles themselves were the star of the show. The moment I took my first bite of the springy noodles, I knew I was in for a treat. The texture was absolutely perfect, striking a delightful balance between firmness and tenderness. It's clear that the chef takes great pride in crafting noodles that elevate the entire dish. But what truly elevated the experience was the dipping soup. The broth was packed with rich, umami flavors that danced on my taste buds. Its thickness added a comforting and indulgent dimension to each mouthful. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the portion of soup was generous, allowing me to savor every last drop and even take some home for later enjoyment. The temperature of the soup was impeccably balanced, ensuring it stayed at the optimal temperature throughout the meal.In conclusion, Taishoken was an absolute delight. From the swift seating and speedy service to the outstanding quality of the noodles and the delectable dipping soup, every aspect of the experience left me thoroughly impressed. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to any noodle lover seeking an exceptional dining experience that surpasses expectations.I will definitely be coming back for more.Parking: There’s a two story parking lot a short walk away across the street."

"I eat ramen a LOT. I always compare it to my time as a youth in Japan when I traveled frequently with my father. Ramen was a staple for us, standing at the counters in little shacks throughout Tokyo, enjoying the quick and easy meals. Times havechanged though. Everything seems to be gourmet now. If the pork isn 't melt in your mouth tender or the soft boiled egg isn 'tperfectly timed, people complain. Kai Ramen is absolutely delicious. I ordered a yellow ramen, which was a pork broth, midsized yellow noodles (the CORRECT version of Ramen...not the angel hair BS that you plebs have gotten accustomed to) pork, egg, and for the first time...cheese. yes, I 've never had cheese in my ramen, but I 'll try it. What I ended up with was arich, decadent experience the likes of which I 've never had with ramen. The soup was already hearty but now the creamy textureof the soft boiled egg and cheese just made it come alive. I ordered a pork bowl to sample their rice dish. It was too sweet,in my opinion. Daikokuya has a much better example of what an authentic pork bowl should taste like, but I did appreciate Kai 'sspin on things. It was still tender and delicious...just too sweet. The gyoza doesn 't have a crisp bottom, and it was verygeneric. The highlight side order was the spicy garlic chicken. This is Korean style fried chicken at a ramen shop. This isexactly like the Korean style fried chicken in Honolulu (Itchy Butt made famous and reviewed by Mark Weins of Migrationology). It was hot, fresh, crunchy, and went great with the creamy broth of my ramen. That 's an A+ side you can 't get at any otherramen shop. While not perfect , Kai is now officially my go to ramen spot in SGV. There are more foodie and boutique ramenshops that will claim more authentic experiences , but this combination of deliciousness is 100% worth a try."

"4.5 stars food quality but rounding down for their stinginess on serving sizes. I went here on a Thursday around prime dinner time, but I was surprised there were a few empty tables since there is always a waitlist (which fortunately you can enter online) for dinner, but I guess I attribute it to the rain that LA finally is getting. I got the combo blaze (spicy tonkotsu) with pork and the chicken karaage for the side, which is priced at $20.50. On paper, this is a good deal in terms of variety, but what I meant by stingy serving sizes is that the menu says 4 5 pc karaage but I ended up getting 4 tiny pieces, and of those tiny pieces, they felt like they just chop 1 piece into 2 3 tiny pieces and market that as 4 pieces. Like I see the chicken on one side, and not battered all around, so they are really cutting corners. The chicken karaage is very juicy and flavorful, so the spicy aioli sauce on the side is very optional, but I still dipped it in for a kind of flavor bomb. I really enjoyed this, but again bummed that they decide to skimp on the portions. The ramen is fairly good, aside from one minute complaint that the pork is a bit on the fattier side. However, the pork is very flavorful and complements well with the rich broth. Blaze is spicy tonkotsu so you can taste a bit of the peppers even though I requested mild. The noodles are cooked to al dente, and the usuals like green onion, seaweed, and egg were of average quality. Service is minimal but passable, delivering water and checking up once in a while, fulfilling requests as needed. I do enjoy that this place has quick turnaround, since the wait can be very long otherwise due to the limited amount of seating in the restaurant. I was in and out of the restaurant in less than 30 minutes, given that food arrived around 5 10 minutes after I placed the order. This would be a great place for a quick work meal, or a casual dinner."
