"we always had great experiences here. we go here for special occasions. one of the things we love is the fabulous attentive service, but unfortunately the service terrible, insulting awful. we should have asked for a change when we saw that some who looked anxious constantly tried to get the attention of the waiter. Instead we sat her, while said waiter refused to take our drink order until the whole party arrived. As soon as they did 15 minutes later, he informed us rudely that we had to wait until everyone knew what he wanted to drink, how we were children, because he would only make a trip into the bar. this is my man's birthday, and they want to drink him? So we started to ask the bus boys for drinks or would ask him before we were finished because drinks lasted about 30 minutes. still we have only 2 or 3 drinks (we usually 5) I think he went on all his tables and made us all order at the same time so he went out into the bar. when the coffee was served, he left it on a table next to our table for 10 or 15 minutes. he went away, we finished dessert and then he came back 10 minutes later and shaken it. a new couple sat next to us. 15 minutes later, the man stood up and screamed, as the tip of his lungs at a manager screamed over the waiter. she offered him weeping so he might have been shot and ignored. it was his jubilee. everything I say is special occasions that need special occasions. that was not a new server, but there was obviously something that wasn't right with him. his attitude, his demeanor, he was sweaty, a little ashamed. I think I'll rethink my special restaurant. I also called in advance to tell them that it was the 40th birthday of my man. they offered to put rose petals on the table and give him a free dessert....one of them happened. Instead we were brought to a big table by an empty restaurant and stood there while they put the table before us."

"This was my first visit to Morton’s. My sons were in town for the holidays, and we decided months ago to celebrate Christmas dinner out—a tradition we’d never tried before. We chose Morton’s for its convenient location and my hopes for a memorable Christmas Day dinner. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. We didn’t get the booth I had requested, which wasn’t a deal-breaker, but worth mentioning if you have specific preferences. I made reservations well in advance, and on the day of, the only explanation given for the seating was that they were fully booked. We were seated at a nice table in a lovely ambiance. We ordered a bottle of wine and some appetizers, and a round loaf of bread with cold butter was brought to our table. The bread was unappetizing—cold, dry, and crumbly—making it difficult to butter without it falling apart. Eventually, our appetizers arrived: bacon-wrapped scallops and wagyu meatballs. The scallops were good, but the meatballs were just mediocre. Yet still, we had no drinks. I noticed the tables around us, all seated later, were receiving their food and drinks from different staff. After 45 minutes of waiting, our waiter informed us that they “couldn’t locate” the wine I had chosen. This was puzzling since the wine list includes bin numbers. Regardless, waiting this long was unacceptable. He attempted to upsell me on a bottle double the price, of a blend and type I wasn't familiar with. I asked to see the wine list again, which didn’t seem unreasonable. When he finally returned, he still didn’t have the list and instead insisted on taking our dinner orders. The restaurant didn’t seem overly busy, so it felt like we were being rushed rather than allowed a relaxed dining experience. I kept my patience intact, and we proceeded to order our main courses. Finally, the waiter brought the wine list, then returned with the bottle he had recommended. I told him we opted for individual glasses of wine and a cocktail. Our salads came shortly after, but still no drinks. My sons had Caesar salads, while I opted for a wedge salad that was rather bland. After an hour and 20 minutes, we finally received our drinks—just as our entrees arrived at the table. The steaks were the highlight of the meal. I ordered the filet mignon with béarnaise sauce, while my sons each chose ribeyes with different butters and sauces, which they enjoyed. They also ordered sides—mushrooms and onions for one, and grilled shrimp for the other—and found them satisfactory. The steaks were the best part of our meal. We ended up with over half of a dry rub ribeye and the filet leftover, which our waiter said he would box up for us to take home. We ordered dessert, which was not comped on the bill as promised. After everything that had happened, I decided not to inquire about it—I just wanted to finish up and leave. The final bill was over $700. I was aware in advance that the meal would be expensive, and I don’t mind spending on special occasions like Christmas. However, with the price point, I expect exceptional service and food. To top it all off, when we got home, we discovered that our waiter had forgotten to include the leftover steaks in the bag; we only had the leftover desserts. Perhaps other locations of Morton’s provide a better experience, but I won’t find out, as I don’t plan on returning to the one in Crystal City or visiting another location. Morton’s needs to improve. If you want to position yourself as a high-end establishment, it’s crucial to enhance your service and better train your staff. Despite my dissatisfaction with the service, I left a 20% tip—it was Christmas, after all."

"This was my first time at a Ruth 's Chris, so here is my brutally honest opinion based on how it went: Pros: arrived 15 min late, however were seated almost instantly food quality is decent meat cooked to preference quiet ambiance Cons: staff was uncomfortably overattentive for the wrong reasons staff felt like they were all hiding a secret the secret was a classic trick: fast in, slow out (be prepared to be forgotten when you want the check, seen million of times there was a floor guy with glasses in a suit who kept hovering our table and looking at wine bottles on the wall the same dude (manager? kept asking us in a frantic tone if everything was to expectation like we insulted him, a bit much food quality was decent but honestly the meat tasted prefrozen or like off in texture, just not what you expect for the price paid at all (been to plenty of non chain nyc steakhouses that stomp this place for equal price or not much more mashed potatoes are solid but also nothing to write home about, don 't taste super fresh overall feeling that they were understaffed and out of sync We were placed in mostly empty room that was huge and would only see our waitress one every blue moon. Theres room for a lot of improvement but the effort is there. No one wants to be in a tryhard classy setting when it 's all a facade. Act the part and stop helicoptering your customers, it 's quite strange. We are human not specimens to be studied, we know y 'all are worried people are catching onto the song and dance to hide the fact their money isn 't going to mean much at Ruth 's. I write this to help this chain because I 'm not blaming anyone in particular, just telling it how it was and it was weird! I won 't be coming back because it wasn 't great paying so much to see the classic fast in, slow out trick being pulled so predictably from the start (everyone acting so overly zealous and attentive until you need the check the wait was almost 30 minutes hostage style . We especially knew we were screwed when the waitress walked away and said take your time . Anyway, good luck to this place, seems you have a lot of good intentions that are terribly misguided and the failure to close out tables is disappointing after what your customers pay. If people have had a similar experience, i only hope this review serves as constructive criticism for the better!"
