"The fact that we found this place randomly is outstanding on its own. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was superb and the service was one of a kind. We received a VIP experience with the wine recommendations the food. We tried a lot of food and it was worth every bite. It is worth every dollar. Can’t wait to go back for another event. "The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. We had a group of 25 for a birthday celebration, and my glass was never empty. I always appreciate attentive service when my drink runs low—it really makes a difference. I ended up with more food than I could finish, and the meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. "Have eaten here several times. Was surprised that with a reservation we were still sitting at a booth looking into the kitchen. We could have asked to be moved, but we didn't want to. The waiter was very enthusiastic, but failed to fill glasses of water without being asked. My husband's lasagna was a huge brick in the middle of an unadorned plate. A little salad or something green and crispy would have been nice. Not an à la carte fan, especially when it comes to the price of the main course alone. The room was very dark and a bit noisy. I would ask not to sit in this area another time."

"The only constructive criticism I have for the restaurant is that they overlooked my OpenTable reservation, where I specifically requested a table near the band due to my connection with them. Initially, they tried to seat me in a back room until I pointed out my preference for the main room with the band. Thankfully, they ultimately accommodated my request and seated me where I'd asked. If they had been unable to do so, that would have been a different matter, but they didn’t even mention the possibility as they attempted to place us in the back. Overall, everything else was great."

"Food is dependently good here. I had the crab and shrimp enchiladas (my usual). My husband tried the Mexican seafood chowder, which was out of this world! Unfortunately, the service was horrendous. We were at our table for at least ten minutes before our server came over. Food came out promptly. After that, he disappeared again. He was gone for so long, my husband had to stand up and wave him down. We ordered Fried Ice Cream, which was delicious, but then the server took a long time to come back so we could get the check. We'll go back to the other location like we usually do, as we've never had service issues there."

"California needs a better Mexican restaurant. This experience was not great at all. The two matching pigtail hair girls at the host desk seemed to not know what they were doing and seemed lost. They seated people who came in after us first when we only had a party of 2. They were constantly on their phones and even heard them talking bad about customers. The food was bland no flavor. Hard and dry and crispy. Carnitas crunched more than the chips. They were drier than a Popeyes biscuit. Drinks were weak and had no flavor. We tried 3 different drinks and all were so gross. Only the beer was good. You can not go wrong with beer or water. Seriously ONLY order beer here. They can?t mess that up. Hot sauce taste like spaghetti sauce. By far the worse tasting food I?ve had here in California. Order things that did not even come out and honestly I am glad no telling how that tasted. The only thing I enjoyed here was the live music. That says a lot. Bring Texas Mexican food over here. Probably will not come back or recommend."

"This Mexican restaurant is amazing! If you're looking for a delicious meal at a great price, this is the place to go. I love this restaurant a lot. The service is excellent for takeout and the atmosphere is great for dinner. The price per person is $20–30. I highly recommend trying the fajitas, quesadilla, chimichangas, and the supreme quesadilla with shredded chicken. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect score of 5."

"The food was spectacular here!! The service was excellent. Brandon was our waiter and he was the best waiter! He was very attentive and we never had to flag him down to ask for anything bc he was on top of it! We got the Paradilla for 2. The fajita was so tender and flavorful. The rice and beans were delicious. My son got the burrito which was also very good. We got the handmade guacamole and it was phenomenal as well! Definitely recommend and will be back!"

"I took my kids to lunch here last week, and we were seated next to the patio. It was a little warm in that area, but it was manageable. However, I felt a little segregated maybe because I had 2 small children with me. We were the only customers seated in this area away from everyone else. We were literally in a corner of the restaurant somewhat hidden. Anyway, I ordered a margarita and tacos. Everything tasted great per usual, and I ordered the kids fruit cup and yogurt and a cheese burger for my son. They were happy with their meals and they voiced how much they really liked that place. Overall visit was good, food was great, prices are always a little on the high end especially for what we ordered but I expected that from previous experiences. I would return again, but I will definitely voice any seating issues next time!"

"The michelada mix was one of the best we’ve ever had. The chips and salsa may seem like a simple appetizer, but I have to mention them because the heat from the chili builds pleasantly on the back of your palate. The variety of chilaquiles options made me feel like a kid in a candy store. The quality of the food was excellent. My family and I don't typically eat Tex-Mex, as my wife is a second-generation from Jalisco, Mexico, and can be quite critical of authentic Mexican cuisine. However, she loved everything, especially her barbacoa tacos. As long as the quality remains consistent, we will definitely be coming back."

"The restaurant is spacious with both outdoor and indoor seating options. It is kept very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The menu features mainly Mexican cuisine, with a focus on seafood dishes. The extensive menu includes pictures, and we all enjoyed our meals. The black beans were particularly delicious and the dishes were well balanced. The cocktails were also beautifully crafted. The homemade tortillas served with the black bean soup and shrimp were a hit. My wife loved the fish tacos, my mother-in-law enjoyed her fish plate with shrimp, and I had the fajitas without green peppers. The fish empanada was also delightful. We will definitely be returning as we had a great experience and felt the food was of high quality and safe to eat."

"I made an online reservation because I wanted to ensure everything was ready for our large family group of four adults and three kids. I noted that we would need three high chairs for the little ones. However, when we arrived and mentioned my reservation, the staff seemed unaware of our booking. We were seated but only given two high chairs, with the staff saying that someone else was using the third one and that they would let us know when it became available. The food was decent, and the atmosphere was nice. In my experience, if you're planning to visit this restaurant, it might be better to just walk in instead of making a reservation!"

"The food at Mesero is very tasty. They have a wide selection of drinks and many food options to choose from. I tried the Mesero Old Fashion with tequila and the Texas Bourbon Old Fashion, both of which were delicious although they had very different flavors. "I don't usually write reviews because I often see negative ones, but I felt this time I should make an exception. We ordered take-out tonight through their online system. It gave us an estimated wait time of an hour, but having worked in the food industry, I suspected it would actually be ready within the initial 30-minute prep window they mentioned. The hostesses were very friendly, and my food was well-packaged. They nearly got our entire order right, though they did forget the tortillas for my husband's fajitas. Fortunately, we have some at home, so it wasn't a big deal. They also gave us an abundance of chips for our dip, which was fantastic. I love dining in this restaurant, and it looks like we’ll be ordering take-out from them more often!"
