"I particularly loved the fireplace by the front entrance; it adds a wonderful touch as you stand in the doorway and enter. I opted for a booth — my preferred seating choice. My waitress was professional and pleasant, striking the perfect balance without being overly familiar. She promptly took my drink order and then proceeded to take my entree order.
I decided to try the Fish Chips, which are served with standard French fries instead of traditional chips. That was perfectly fine! The highlight of the meal for me was the dipping sauce — a Cajun remoulade that was so delicious I ended up ordering an extra side. The fish itself was excellent, cooked to perfection without being underdone or overcooked. I was also impressed by the quality of the fish; it tasted fresh, not frozen or processed.
My only suggestion would be to serve the tartar sauce in a small cup, like the Cajun remoulade, instead of in packets. This would enhance the presentation of the dish.
Overall, I would definitely return to Fireside Kitchen for lunch or dinner on my next visit to Black Hawk. I highly recommend it for a quality meal with family or friends. Enjoy!"
