"I'm from Indiana and this was my first visit to Nolan's...my boyfriend insisted that he had to take me. We started off with a very welcoming greeting by Marshall. We ordered two lemon drop martinis which were absolutely fantastic. We then decided that since we were having dessert that we would share a meal, as we usually do because we both don't eat a whole lot. We decided on the Captain's Platter...for starters the shrimp cocktail (one shrimp for each) was perfect and very tasty. The platter came out and presentation was superb. The filet was placed on a bed of sautéed mushrooms, while the lobster tail was placed onto a shredded bed of lettuce complimented with mashed potatoes and butter. When I took the first bite of the filet I seriously had melted and gone to this very beautiful place...my tastebuds were so taken back by how tender, flavorful, and magical this was. I'd never had a filet like this before. We ordered it medium rare which was cooked to perfection! The lobster was very juicy and dipping into the melted butter was very tasty. The mashed potatoes were absolutely amazing! The garlic and creamy taste was pure ecstasy! I had never tasted any potatoes like this ever. Marshall checked in on us and he was an absolute delight. Very attentive, friendly, and at times quite humorous. Definitely would go back to see him and enjoy his kindness and laughter. Lastly we ordered dessert...Marshall gave us the rundown and we chose the Creme brûlée. I honestly have never had a brûlée as exuberantly delicious as this one! The chocolate cup it was served in added an extra special layer to this already amazingly appetizing, palatable sweet! Overall I can't even describe anymore how much I enjoyed this restaurant and it's staff. The woman who I believe was the manager came out and asked how we were which was a lovely touch to our already wonderful experience. Thank you so much for my first visit to Nolan's which was a very welcoming and delectable time a very special and memorable one."

"It was a Sunday morning and we planned to meet some of our motorcycling friends for lunch. We originally made reservations for 12:45, but got down there earlier. They were able to seat us immediately. Fortunately, our friends got down there early enough to get a parking space because if they hadn't, parking is a mess there at the pier area. So we sat on the patio, which was nice, but kinda had an alleyway feel to it. Quite a bit of foot traffic, but not much of a view. The table they sat us at was pretty small. It had a bucket in the middle with napkins, utensils, and salt/pepper. There was no way 4 drinks, 4 large plates and everything else would fit on that small table. We had to ask for an extra chair to put the bucket and a few other things on. We ordered the Tequilla shrimp appetizer that was awesome. They also brought out chips with three different kinds of salsa that were also pretty good. I had the Tres Amigos Tacos, which were three tacos...one carne asada, one shrimp, and one lobster. Those were all very good as well. My g/f had the lobster fajitas tacos, She said her's were very tasty and she liked them. We got there early enough to beat the lunch crowd, so they were not busy. Our food came out pretty quickly and was all very hot and fresh. It may be weird, but one of the ways I generally rate service is by my drink glass. Today I had water, and I had to ask several times for a refill. I like the waiter/waitress that sees a half full glass and either refills it, or at least asks if you'd like a refill. Overall, this was a very nice lunch experience. I'd go back, but I'd like to try the Old Town San Diego location next time."

"While visiting this location, me and my guest was clearly eating and conversing when the hostess CAROL walked over and asked, do you need a box or are you still picking in your food? And I responded NO, we 're still eating! I gave her a pass for speaking rudely and attempting to rush us from the table even though we were eating our meal for only 15 20 minutes (WHEN I LOOKED AROUND THERE WERE TWO BOOTH TABLES WITH DIRTY DISHES PILED ON TOP OF THEM, WHICH WERE THERE BEFORE MY GUEST AND I WERE EVEN SEATED). Nearly 5 minutes later, Carol tossed a piece of paper on our table then said, here 's your bill I was immediately confused because neither one of us requested the bill, hence, we were literally eating!! So I asked her why did you bring the bill because it was not requested? I was perturbed when Carol replied, because remember when I asked if you guys needed a box and we talked about me bringing the bill? I stated she didn 't even offer us dessert therefore I 'm sure we didn 't request the bill. Carol then went on to offer us the dessert menu.. we both declined, paid the bill, got up and left. Needless to say she did not get a tip. This was only the second time I visited this location, AND MY LAST!!! The servers don 't bother to smile and they speak to customers with an unfriendly attitude. Do not bother to waste your time or your money at this location"
