"when I first started dining here, sushi was excellenr, excellent presentation. tonight was not that great, waiter did not record order correctly, even after I asked him to use the electronic mobile aka apple ipad. i asked for spicy tuna handrolls, ride paper made into an ice cone shape with spicy tuna. that took another 15 minutes. wasn't that busy for a saturday night. the menu had numbers on it. the server said the sushi chefs don't know the numbers. when then sushi boar was served, the boat itself smelled very soapy as it was washed but had a soapy residue that took away from the aroma of the sushi. the sushi didn't smell right, smelled very fishy as with quality sushi, no fishy smell. took another 10 minutes to get a side plate, soy sauce and a small plate to mix soy/wasabi. overall compared to other sushi places, sakura needs some improvement"

"Yesterday, we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. When we walked in, I was initially surprised to see TVs showing the Harlem Globetrotters, making me think it was a sports bar. However, after taking in the sushi bar and the decor, I quickly got over my initial confusion. May was our server and she was a delight to talk to. It was our first time there and she made sure everything went smoothly. The food was delicious - we enjoyed the BBQ squid legs, sushi, sashimi rolls, lemon grass shrimp, and Pork Ramen in classic broth. We also ordered Japanese fried chicken for my 8-year-old, which she loved. Every dish we tried was excellent. While dining at a typical Japanese restaurant can often mean a hefty bill, in this case, the quality of the food made it worth it. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for high-quality sushi, not just conveyor belt options."

"On the service front, there was a noticeable lack of attention. It was difficult to get the waitstaff's attention when we needed water or our check, and the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, which made this issue stand out. While we didn't take any pictures of the food, ordering was done through an iPad rather than traditional paper menus, and the food was delivered when ready. Overall, I would consider returning, though it’s a bit on the pricey side. Nonetheless, the impressive variety makes it worth it."

"We chose this sushi restaurant based on the 4.8 star rating and it definitely lived up to expectations! The sushi was some of the best I've ever had. The presentation was gorgeous as well. "Beautifully redone from Denny 's. I ordered pick up because I wasn 't sure there was in house dining. The web page should make that more clear. I had only the spicy seafood soup, uni, eel and yellowtail sushi. I took home a quart of soup that was nicely spiced and full of seafood and vegetables with an excellent broth which is the thickened type, like egg drop soup rather than the thin dashi type. Firstly, this is the only place I 've found in the area to have uni sushi it 's on the menu all over, but if ordered one gets the response that it is not available (too expensive, too short shelf life, too few orders). I hope Fuji will be able to keep it. All three sushi orders were excellent, the rice nicely textured and flavored. To say more would require consuming it on site, not after dragging it home in January. Best wishes to Fuji! I hope to try lots more of your extensive menu, especially the oyster shots the oysters better be freshly shucked."

"This is a take out only restaurant at the present time. It was a nice surprise. I was in the area for work and I walked in. I ordered Vegetable Lomein and two Vegetable Springrolls with a Ginger Ale. I thought it was a quick and simple order for lunch...I was to impatient because I was ready to go back to my work. My name was called and my order was ready. I thanked the lady and went out in the cold. I ate the Springrolls on my way back to work and I had to slow down it was hot, soft and good. It was not just because I was hungry. I parked and sat in my car. I ate the best Vegetable Lomein I have tasted. I took an hour for lunch."

"Had a lovely time here! A friend met me for dinner while I was waiting for my husband to get out of work, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. I was in the mood for something hot because of the frigid temperatures, so I decided that I wanted to order one of the noodle soups. The Big Bowl Noodle Soups are a real treat! It's kind of a build your own soup adventure. You pick a broth (clear soup, coconut curry, or spicy miso), then you pick a noodle (udon, mei fun, chow fun or lo mein) and then you can pick a filling: mixed vegetables, chicken, beef, shrimp, chicken wontons, roast pork, or a seafood combo. I asked for the coconut curry with the chicken wontons and udon (the noodles were probably overkill with the wontons, but everything was delicious) and my friend had coconut curry with udon and roast pork. We decided to split a yellowtail roll as an appetizer. I'm glad we didn't order more because the soups really do live up to the Big Bowl moniker. They're huge! Neither one of us were able to finish, and they were so good! The curry was flavorful with enough spice to make me nice warm on that miserably cold night. We also had green tea to help keep us warm. This was probably the most inexpensive dinner we've had in a long time (27.95) and a great start to the New Year. Service was excellent and friendly. Stop in and try this place, and you won't be sorry."

"Got the Sushi Bento for dinner. Everything was fresh. The three different rices were distinct (sushi, maki, plain). Sushi rice had the vinegar flavor, the maki rice was sticky and seemed to have very-slightly undercooked grains, and the plain rice was just that, simple with no flavor. The cuts of fish were alright with decent texture. The tempura and other sides were nice additions. The miso soup and ginger salad dressing were standard and good. Presentation and use of to go boxes was on point. If it had waited for much longer in the bag/box my fish would have been too warm. Price is in the eye of the beholder."

"I truly love this restaurant. Everything is exceptionally fresh, and you can tell that they put a lot of care and pride into their preparations. My husband and I make it a tradition to eat here every Friday night for their delicious sushi, and sometimes we even come twice in one week! We've never had a bad meal here. If sushi isn't your preference, I strongly suggest trying their pineapple fried rice—it's amazing. The owners are incredibly friendly and always make us feel welcome."

"Tiny and cute restaurant in the heart of the town of Metuchen, NJ. Definitely, it is one of the best sushi place around NJ area. We ordered miso salad, then sushi spicy maki combo. In addition, we chose sashimi, which was pretty unique. Even though this sashimi was a thick cut, it was literally melting in your mouth. Another thing I want to point out is that I am not a big fun of wasabi, but this one had a lighter color and it was not as spicy as the ones I previously tasted. On a side note, customer service needs to improve their smile skills. Sushi Suzuki was overall a good experience."

"If I could give 0 stars I would, The service was absolutely terrible. I ordered from the website, tipped (mind you I've had issues with the website prior this experience and was then berated by the delivery driver that I didn't tip. I was yelled at and asked for a refund due to the joke of a service spoke to the owner and was shut down as she literally said whatever If you want to run the risk of eating mediocre sushi and terrible service by all means buy here if not please support another local small business."

"So I ordered chicken fried rice with chicken wings the rice was excellent but the wings had no flavor, I had also the sushi lunch special so get two rolls and a salad , sushi was good ? however on another occasion return to this place for a second time I wanted to have chicken and chicken fried rice and the chicken was horrible it was overcooked and it did not taste fresh end up throwing half of the half of it away , I'm debating if I give them another try definitely won't be trying the half chicken again since it was so horrible but the sushi was good and chicken wings were okay for this I give them three stars"
