"that was my first dinner on the way to mardi gras 2022. they kept up, but I could eat in only 30 minutes. I was so nervous because we didn't really eat in ontario with the pandemic and curly downs. I felt so strange to be out, but the one standing in which I was was was on the back of the restaurants so I really tried to relax and enjoy the experience. and I must say I can't wait to go back next year. I have never eaten in a fondue restaurant, but had friends in vancouver who had prepared this dinner for me before, and I wanted to do it again and again. there are different courses, so it can be a little expensive, especially when they eat solo, but so much worth it. they have special gluten-free menu items that are so wonderful if they can't eat what most other people can order. james was my server and he made a wonderful job explaining how everything worked and made sure I took care of it. I ordered a cherry limonade to drink. highly recommended. the starter course was wisconsin cheddar with apple, gluten-free bread and vegetable broccoli, carrot and flower cabbage. so delicious. I admit that I had better GF bread, but at any time they can get it in a restaurant is great because not every restaurant it offers. it was a little bland and chew, but the cheese was exquisite. for the next cure I ordered the create your own entree. my three meats were garnel, garlic pepper steak and duck. I decided to cook it in-season vegetables. all the objects were marked, which were by the way, which feels safer to eat. james gave me the cooking times for every meat. that is low carb, btw, that fits my edgy style. there is a hot plate built in the table for the bouillon to cook the meat. they also get six different dip sauce. that was really fresh and delicious. to dessert I asked james to surprise me. he asked me if I liked a few flavors and finally brought me a chocolate/peanut butter food with strawberries, bananas and pineapple. It was not only so much fun to eat this food, but it was all very delicious. I enjoyed the experience and the aromes. I will stop on my way to mardi gras 2023."

"To be fair, our server was new but odd atmosphere. He didn't really know what he was doing, but didn't seem to be trained well. Weird music playing given the ambiance/decor, meat for entrees literally tastes boiled, (because it is) and the salad was pretty sad looking. Cheese fondue was great. I ordered a wine flight that was supposed to be served with each course, but it wasn't but the wine selection was pretty good. Most of the good wines are sold by the bottle only. There are a lot of little add on costs that make this place expensive even with the Groupon that we had. Took forever to eat, burned my tongue but that probably is my fault anyway. Sauces tasted like the they were from a bottle, and they gave us prepackaged spices for stuff. Supposedly it tastes good, but for the price point of the restaurant I found it inappropriate. They also had an obnoxious note on their Groupon that their wonderful' customers tip generously and on the entire nondiscounted meal. We did, but this set the bar high for service- and it was not excellent service (despite our servers efforts). It made me not want to tip well at all. Overall, you're better off spending the money for dinner at a steak house or really anywhere else. I'm saying that for the price that we paid with a Groupon which was 43 for two. Id come back just for fondue, but skip the rest. Outrageously expensive for what you're getting."

"The Melting Pot specializes in fondue, where everyone shares the cooking experience. You can cook your food individually or dip it into cheese or chocolate as you prefer. There were three of us in our party, and since we arrived around brunch time, we ordered bottomless mimosas. Typically, a mimosa comes with a splash of champagne, but if you ask nicely, they’ll adjust the ratio! We started with the goat cheese toast, which was delightful. It featured a generous amount of flavored goat cheese on toasted bread, topped with sprouts and drizzled with wildflower honey. I do wish they’d use local honey to support our bees! Next, we ordered the classic alpine fondue along with a charcuterie board that included prosciutto, two types of salami, kalamata olives, fig jam, and crackers. The complimentary veggie and broth platter was well stocked, and you can always request more of certain items. The apples were crisp and juicy, and the bread was just right—offering both baguette and sourdough bites. For the main course, we opted for the grill plate so we could enjoy the tabletop grilling experience. We chose honey-orange duck breast, teriyaki-marinated sirloin, and wild mushroom sacchetti. The main dish also came with a generous portion of mushrooms and mixed vegetables, all incredibly fresh and crisp. To cap off our brunch, we indulged in the yin-yang chocolate fondue, which features half white chocolate and half dark chocolate—it’s my absolute favorite!"

"We started with a delicious cheese fondue accompanied by bread, fruit, and vegetables, which was fantastic. The salad course followed, and I must say, it was impressive—mine had strawberries, and it was delightful. However, the main course didn’t quite meet my expectations. The portions were quite small, and since I'm pregnant, cooking my own meat and noodles was tedious. I was particularly concerned that the pork never seemed to cook fully, even when I left it in for longer than recommended. I was also disappointed by the limited drink options—only four choices without any alcohol, each costing nearly $6. On a positive note, dessert was the highlight of the meal. We enjoyed an assortment of fruits, small dessert breads, and rice crispies for dipping in our choice of chocolate, which was definitely my favorite part. I believe that given the price for four people, they should have provided more cheese for the first course and more chocolate for dessert. Overall, I don’t think it was worth the $380 tab. Additionally, there was an 18% gratuity automatically included in the check, which I didn’t realize until the end. As someone who believes in tipping well, it felt strange not to leave an additional tip. Parking was another hassle—it's quite challenging to fit anything larger than a Prius in those spots. I had to maneuver my Dodge Journey through a series of tricky pivots to get out. On a positive note, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly. However, the menu was somewhat confusing when it came to pricing, which added to our uncertainty. While the food was decent, I personally believe it didn’t justify the high price."
