"We stopped by to get ourselves something to eat before going up the mountain. It's probably the most convenient spot since the restaurant is situated right before you walk up the hill. Ok, so let's do the food. The Salmon Crepe: It was wonderful. I'm very partial to savory crepes, so this is something up my alley. It also comes with a side of lingon berry compote which was a refreshing addition if you're into the savory sweet combinations. I'd definitely order this again if given the chance. Hof Omelette: I had this on the second day we were here. The omelette was very good. I enjoyed it to the last bite. The hash was a little over done. It might've had something to do with us being the last customers in the restaurant. Anyways, I enjoyed this spot. It was quiet. We were pretty much the only ones in there when we were eating which is something I truly enjoy. The decor was old worldish German style which was quite cute. Also the service was exceptional. I would highly recommend to anyone having a bite to eat before they go up the mountain. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. "For appetizers, we had onion and potato pancakes, German meatballs, and New England clam chowder. For our main courses, we ordered the BBQ plate and what I believe is called Roundetell. For dessert, we shared the chocolate chip lava cake. All four of us adults left feeling completely satisfied and full—everything was delicious! I was particularly impressed that they make most, if not all, of their dishes from scratch, which truly earns them high marks in my book. Our server, James, was phenomenal—friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He took excellent care of us! I am definitely looking forward to dining again on their beautiful terrace and playing some pool with friends."

"We were seated promptly and placed our drink and appetizer orders. However, our server did not return and we had to get our own straws from the bar. After waiting 45 minutes without receiving our appetizers or drinks, we asked another server for assistance. Despite seeing our server socializing at the bar, she ignored us. The manager eventually came to our table and informed us that our order had never been placed. After waiting an hour, our appetizers finally arrived, but they were unimpressive. We decided to just ask for the check, which initially included the full meal. They adjusted the bill for what we had not received, and we paid and left. Several other frustrated tables also left without eating. The manager's attempts to rectify the situation were appreciated, but we were disappointed that no compensation was offered for the inconvenience and poor service. Our original server seemed more focused on the bar than the tables she was serving. We ended up getting takeout from Hard Eight instead. Unfortunately, this experience has deterred us from ever returning to this restaurant, and we would not be surprised if it goes out of business soon."

"If you were hidden in the San Lorenzo Valley, then fell in this bar, you might think he would be transported directly to a village pub in Germany. This restaurant definitely gets a “A” for effort. They've been here for years and people are coming back. They have a great mix of German, Hungarian and Austrian food. In the summers, come early and sit outside. During winter a reservation near the fireplace inside it is cozy ingenious and makes you feel like you in the mountains of the Swiss German Alps. Their dishes range from traditional German carvings to grilled New York Steak. And their selection of beer and wine is most impressive, with several Alsatian whites on the menu and hard to find German and Austrian beers. Parking can be a total challenge so you need to be creative. The staff is fantastic and well informed. However, there are only some of them to go to the entire restaurant and the kitchen, so a vast service can suffer!"

"Henk's is a great place to go for a unique and delicious dining experience. My family and I selected a wide range of food and all of it was excellent. We also purchased some bread from the bakery and we're very impressed by it. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. It felt very hole in the wall and like our little secret, even though it was pretty busy!"

"Cute concept with the train cars for seating. The guy taking orders was friendly and helpful. The pizza was just okay. The middle was soggy and you had to eat it with a fork or the toppings would slide off the thin limp dough that was supposed to be crust. It wasn 't horrible though. The cheese was good and so was the sauce. What really turned me off was this. They automatically add 18% gratuity up front upon payment. So don 't bother adding extra. I 'll tell you why. You 're expected to bus your own dishes. Their service consists of making your order and dropping it off at your table. Which, if you open a restaurant, is your actual bare minimum job. If I 'm getting my own water, silverware, napkins, parmesan cheese, honey, pepper flakes, and bussing my own table... why am I being charged a gratuity???"
