Hoff's Steaks And Steins

Our reservation was ready on time, and our waitress was pretty attentive. Food selection is limited in my opinion. As for the food, portion sizes are very generous, but for me the flavor was average.

We waited for our food for almost an hour even though it wasn't crowded. Service was mediocre. Doors were left open in summer heat so it was humid and there were flies. Food was ok. Expensive meal for such a disappointing experience. We won't be back.

The appetizers were over forty minutes to the table. The ice water melted the ice without refilling. Steak we undercooked medium rare was raw on one meal. Sent back and came back well done. Order a second round of drinks never got them. Way overpriced for what it was. View menu

Do you go to Texas for German food? Had a really great experience here. Barmaid was very helpful choosing a beer. $12 for 32 oz???? I got the ribs and they were out of coleslaw so I got their sauerkraut. If you don’t like sauerkraut, you might like it after trying theirs it’s homemade. Watch for the jalapeños. Same with the German potato salad, really amazing.

The service at this restaurant was slow. Our waitress was pleasant and polite, but they seemed to be short-staffed and there were long stretches of time where we didn't see her. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks and an hour and a half for our food to arrive. The steak was expensive and not very good quality. The ribs had good flavor, but there wasn't much meat on them. Overall, disappointing experience.

They reserved a time for us when they were closed;good job. And even though closed we were able to walk right in. The guy we eventually found who was still there said that they close at 9 or 10pm . Well, which is it? It didn 't matter much to us since they place literally smelled bad, but I was left with one lingering question.....wtf kind of restaurant is closed by 10 on a Saturday? The food at this restaurant was generally quite delicious. The cocktails were excellent. However, there seemed to be not enough waitstaff and kitchen staff working. Our table was dirty when we first sat down, and it took 30 minutes to get water because they had run out of glasses. Our appetizers took 40 minutes to arrive, and our lunch took almost 3 hours instead of the expected 90-minute experience. Despite these issues, I would consider returning to this restaurant if they improve their staffing situation.

Hoff's is next to the highway, so whenever we go anywhere, we would see the sign and say to ourselves we should check out that place one day. We did, recent, and what a mistake. It was lunch on a Friday. The place was almost empty. No one greeted us. I had to go to the kitchen to get anyone's attention. The steins were good. The food was horrendous. My ribeye was super thin, like almost just half an inch thin. Might be wrong, but my expectation when i go to a steak house is that I get good, thick, cooked to order steak! We were seated promptly and placed our drink and appetizer orders. However, our server did not return and we had to get our own straws from the bar. After waiting 45 minutes without receiving our appetizers or drinks, we asked another server for assistance. Despite seeing our server socializing at the bar, she ignored us. The manager eventually came to our table and informed us that our order had never been placed. After waiting an hour, our appetizers finally arrived, but they were unimpressive. We decided to just ask for the check, which initially included the full meal. They adjusted the bill for what we had not received, and we paid and left.
