Brunch is always wonderful here. The shrimp and grits are elevated even further with the addition of pork belly; sometimes I order it without the shrimp entirely!

Very pleased with food and service. It was a busy Saturday when we went and quality of service was not affected. Was glad to see they had a dedicated wine waiter that was very knowledgeable. Menu was on the small side due to it being mainly seafood. All seemed tasty!

The Ledger was our absolute favorite stop during our trip to Salem! Hands down the best meal I've ever had, the atmosphere was wonderful, the building was beautiful (I loved how they played on the fact that the building used to be a bank) and the customerservice was the best! I highly recommend them to anyone looking to have a fancy meal or celebrate an occasion! Ver carta

Ledger has phenomenal food! A small but succinct menu at a high but fair price, everyone was satisfied with their dishes. The venue is very cool; everything is bank related right down to the safety deposit boxes used as separators for tables. This wouldhave been a 5 star rating but the espresso martini was easily the worst I've ever had. It was sedimentated within the 30 secondsI had received it (pictured). Other than that, great place.

Had the best time hosting my baby shower at The Ledger. The food/cake/donut display was all absolutely amazing and the Macomber room is just stunning. Ashleigh was a great event planner and super helpful throughout the whole process. I also want to givea huge thank you to Maura and Oscar who went above and beyond for us during the baby shower. We had so much fun with you andappreciate you both so much. Would 1000% host another event here in the future! 10/10 recommend!

September 2022: The restaurant is located in downtown Salem and has a very nice outdoor patio for safe pandemic time dining. It also lets you people watch the interesting visitors dressed to impress. I had tuna tartare and duck breast. They were bothokay, but not outstanding. Tuna was not as flavorful as I hoped, and the duck was smoked, which is not my favorite flavor. Thepresentation was beautiful, and the service was excellent. The star of the dinner were popovers. Every table had an order ofthem. The bathrooms are shared with the restaurant next door so very crowded. Ver carta

Terrific dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday! The hostess was friendly and attentive when we arrived, seated timely for our reservation. The pop overs and roasted Brussel Sprouts were perfect for appetizers. My husband had the burger which he loved. I had the chicken which was great. Tasty and well prepared. We were too full for dessert and the server surprised us with a birthday cookie and candle which was a perfect ending to a lovely dinner! Our server Vanessa was terrific! Lovely, attentive and sweet. One of the best servers out there! The runner and all the staff worked well together to take care of us and all guests.

I love food, to the level where I plan all my travel meals in advance. Ledger DID NOT disappoint. In fact, it is a meal I will dream about. I don’t know how they made a humble cabbage or green beans so spectacular. They were charred and infused with asmoky flavor but still tender. Even my vegetable hating husband loved them! The chicken is not something I would typicallyorder but the waitress raved about it. She wasn’t wrong. This is not they type of chicken you’re preparing at home. And thepopovers are a must. Service was attentive and the atmosphere (former bank with vault and safe deposit boxes) was a vibe. I’dcome back to Salem just to eat here again.

Food I am so happy that I found another five-star restaurant. The food was top notch. We had oysters, pop over and fried calamari as starters. The oysters were so fresh that I did not want to stop eating them. The pop over was something we went back and forth if we should order. It looked like a muffin and we were afraid it might be too much. We asked the waiter for advice and he said it is very light. You know what? The top over is a must try. It is almost like a balloon and tastes amazing with some butter on it. The fried calamari didn’t disappoint as well. For main course, we ordered lobster spaghetti and fried chicken.
