"We've walked by this place a few times and finally decided to stop and try it. We were not disappointed. I was hungry so I ordered a lot of food knowing that I would be taking some home. The Dog City Dog was outstanding. I liked the cornbread and the Mac and Cheese as well. The service was prompt and very friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something different in downtown Mountain View.My partner had the grilled cheese sandwich and a salad since she is a vegetarian and she was impressed. The menu has a lot of pork but there are also some chicken and beef options. We didn't try any of the whiskey or bourbon since neither of us drink alcohol but if that is your thing the options are extensive. They also have a few cocktails on the menu.We will definitely be back soon."

Decent bbq, amazing selection of beer and bourbon. Unfortunately staff was not knowledgeable about the bourbon at all.

My first visit to this restaurant was fantastic! I was in town with my daughter-in-law, and we enjoyed some amazing barbecue. The selection of bourbons was impressive, and I left feeling very satisfied.

Great grill! I've been wanting to try this place since I moved here a year ago, and I finally had the chance to visit. It was definitely worth the wait. The homemade Texas-style sauce was the highlight of the meal! Ver carta

Great service explained the menu, what's most popular, and was attentive to our drinks and needs throughout lunch! Liked the pork ribs. Potato salad has olives (which I usually don't love, but it was good regardless , and the Mac n Cheese isn't a side dish it's a huge dish! Leftovers :

The food and cocktails were pretty good though on the pricey side, probably due to the location which is prime. Coming from Texas, I have high standards for BBQ. I'd go here again for apps and drinks, but probably wouldn't pay the premium for the dinner plate. The outside space is fantastic with all the downtown activity right around you.

The dishes and cocktails were quite good, though on the pricey side, likely due to the prime location. Coming from Texas, I have high standards when it comes to BBQ. I would definitely return for appetizers and drinks, but I probably wouldn’t spend the extra for a dinner. The outdoor seating is fantastic, allowing you to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the entire city center around you. Ver carta

The sandwich is tiny for $18.00. It was supposed to come with pickles. I asked for pickles for all three of us. They brought out three little bowls of pickles and then had the nerve to say they were going to charge each of us $3 .50 but the waiter took offtwo of the three charges for pickles. The mac and cheese was dry and horrible. Beans meh. Even the margaritas did not tasteright. Definitely wouldn't recommend!

I really want to love this place but it's not happening. The dishes look pretty but are overly salty and inauthentic (totally devoid of smoke flavor). Best things were the texture of the brisket, the chicken sandwich, and the cornbread. Worst was the pulled pork, mac and cheese and potato salad. We are huge BBQ fans and this just didn't do it for us. Coupled with fair-weather service when it was wide open and not busy did not add to the experience.

"Date Night ASA Restaurant has two locations in the Bay Area and their Los Gatos location earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition This was my first dining experience at their more north location in downtown Los Altos With high ceilings and heart themed adorned menus, this was a perfect spot for a Valentine’s week dining experience The menu here is slightly different from the Los Gatos location and I’ve heard that the two locations may not be as closely affiliated when they first opened I loved the appetizers and particular loved the anchovy bread with two different anchovy types topped on crisp, warm bread. The Dungeness crab appetizer was also excellent For entrees, I opted for ASA’s signature exotic mushroom pasta that is on both the Los Gatos and Los Altos menu As a fungi fan, I absolutely love this dish and it’s one of the best pasta dishes in the South Bay and Peninsula The only miss was their special of the day of striped bass over risotto. The purple yam purée was sour and the risotto dry with zero moisture or liquid and more like a cooked rice dish than a risotto ASA is a fantastic destination for the Bay Area and while the prices are elevated, they reflect elevated cuisine (and high ceilings) Smoked and Stoned $16 Anchovy Bread $16 Dungeness Crab Toast $36 Special Striped Bass over Risotto ASA’s Exotic Mushroom Pasta $34 ASA Restaurant (Los Altos, CA) Reservations are recommended on Opentable and dining is indoor only. Credit cards including AmEx are accepted."

"The experience here from start to finish was pretty odd, and the service was bad. Menus weren't brought to us for a long time, they apologized when they eventually gave the menus to us. The restaurant was nearly empty aside from one other table, but everything was slow. We weren't checked in on at all during the meal. When we ordered, the waitress was very confused and unfamiliar with the menu. I assumed she was new, but then we received the same confusing service from all staff. We were randomly brought French fries that we didn't order, and then that kept happening with various other menu items The veggies in all the dishes were cold and tasted watery, unseasoned, and like they had been frozen. Scallion pancakes had no scallions in them at all. Basil eggplant dish had no basil at all. Smoothie wasn't blended properly: all ice at the bottom, and only a super sweet watery liquid would come through the straw. It tasted like the same overly-processed sauce was on every dish, nothing felt fresh. The kimchi rice was a good menu item, but it didn't really taste like kimchi. Just seasoned rice. Appetizer and drinks were brought out after we finished everything. A staff member tried to argue with us when we wanted to send something back. When we paid and thanked them, they didn't say a word to us or even look in our direction, and didn't give us a customer copy of the receipt."
