"Sandy was the only staff member on the ground floor, managing about five tables. I mentioned that it was my first visit, and she promptly provided a menu along with chips and salsa, noting that I would love their award-winning salsa. After tasting it, I was immediately impressed. The chips were hot, fresh, and crispy, while the salsa offered a perfect balance of fleeting heat and seasoning—some of the best salsa I've ever had. I ordered the 1816 margarita (1816 is her street address), which consisted of a simple mix of 1800 reposado tequila, lime juice, and Grand Marnier. It was absolutely fantastic. As a fan of chicken enchiladas verdes with green tomatillo sauce, I noticed a similar dish on the menu featuring a pipián sauce made from pumpkin seeds. Out of curiosity, I asked Sandy for a taste, and she brought me a sample. It was very good and unlike anything I had tried before, pairing wonderfully with the chips. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with pipián sauce, along with roasted beans and rice. The enchiladas were delicious, the beans were perfect, and the rice was fresh and moist. And then there was the flan—yum! Sometimes you make a lucky turn at the right moment and discover a hidden gem while also making a new friend. I often find myself in a Tex-Mex rut, so it was refreshing to enjoy something more traditional and authentic to interior Mexican cuisine. I highly recommend this place. See you soon, Sandy!"

Our waiter was fantastic. The food was excellent, and the coffee and drinks were also delightful. The sides and appetizers were wonderful too. I can't say enough good things!

The staff at this restaurant are truly wonderful; they allowed me to use the restroom when I really needed it. I must mention that the bathroom was very clean, and the employees were incredibly friendly and accommodating. That’s all I have to share!

It's been a few years since my last visit, but the food is still delicious. I really enjoy their mole sauce and queso. The service is friendly, and the drinks are delightful. The only downside is that the interior is a bit dark and dim, but they do have a nice patio.

Fantastic restaurant! The food and drinks are delicious, the staff is friendly, and the patio is a lovely space to enjoy a meal. We always have a great time dining here. Just a quick note: if you're looking for Tex-Mex cuisine, this isn't the place for you. The menu focuses more on authentic Mexican dishes rather than Tex-Mex. Ver carta

If you're looking for a unique and friendly spot with a local, laid-back vibe reminiscent of South Lamar in Austin, this is the place for you! The food is delicious and reasonably priced, making it a great spot to enjoy with your friends. Plus, you can bring your pup along to hang out! It's the perfect atmosphere for catching up, sharing drinks, and having a good laugh. Margarito is an amazing guy with a wonderful spirit, serving up tasty food and drinks. You won't be disappointed—definitely give it a try!

This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem. I've walked by it countless times, but one day I finally noticed it and was curious enough to check it out. My wife and I dined there that evening, and we’re already planning to return with friends soon. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is genuine—something that many other places attempt to replicate but often come off as insincere. This restaurant truly embodies an organic vibe, meaning it doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. I also believe they offer organic food options as well.

This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. I passed by it several times before one day it caught my attention, and I was intrigued. My wife and I visited one evening, and we definitely plan to return with friends in the future. The food is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is authentic—unlike many other places that try too hard and end up feeling fake. This restaurant embraces a genuine vibe, likely because they focus on being themselves rather than trying to be something they're not. I also believe they offer organic food options, which is a nice bonus! Ver carta

The food was great! It had been a while since I last visited (pre-COVID), but I enjoyed it. The guacamole was, as always, delicious, and the veggie enchiladas were quite tasty; you could really taste the fresh vegetables in them. I was initially concerned about the refried beans because they were so good that I assumed they must contain milk, but when I asked, they confirmed that they only used oil. They were absolutely delicious! The service was provided by a friendly young woman, but another coworker loudly mentioned that she would inform our waitress when we asked for assistance, which made me feel like they might not share tips here.

As I sifted through the menu, I took my first bite of the chips and salsa and was instantly impressed. The chips were hot, fresh, and crispy, while the salsa offered a delightful mix of fleeting heat and flavorful spice—definitely among the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the 1816 margarita, named after the restaurant's address. It featured a simple yet effective blend of 1800 Reposado tequila, lime juice, and Grand Marnier—absolutely fantastic. I'm a big fan of chicken enchiladas verdes, typically made with a green tomatillo sauce, but I noticed a similar option featuring a "pipian sauce" made from pumpkin seeds. Out of curiosity, I asked Sandy for a taste, and she kindly brought some out in...

"I literally just made a review but I’m going to make another one because for whatever reason someone or somehow it got deleted. I used to be a regular at Bouldin and the service was always amazing but my last two visits have been by far horrible. The service has been so poor that I felt disgusted when leaving the restaurant. There are two girls that work there with light brown hair and blue eyes. Pretty sure one of their names is Rego. My boyfriend and I were served by her before and she seemed nothing but annoyed and couldn’t care less if we were in her section. Barley even interacted with us or asked how our meal was and just seemed disgusted by us, just being rude passive aggressive for no reason at all. I’m a server and I KNOW this isn’t how you treat your guests and the same thing happened tonight. She just seemed like she couldn’t care less if we were there and just seemed annoyed? I don’t mind paying the gratuity if I’m being treated decently but that wasn’t the case and I feel as though they feel like they think they can get away with behaving like mean girls just because there’s a gratuity. I have friends that dine here as well and they have had the same experience. I’m not one to write reviews but I feel this needs to come across a managers attention so they know who they are hiring and how they are treating customers. Really disgusted and disappointing and if this gets deleted again I’ll write another review or just call the store to speak to a manager. Disgusted by their behavior."
