Service was slow and the food was average the Alfredo sauce was too watery.

The meal and service were excellent as always. Even more significantly, I had specific requests to accommodate my wife with a wheel chair. They were very accommodating had everything set up before we arrived. Another great experience. And, did I mention, the food was superb!!!!!!

This local gem is THE best place around for authentic Italian cuisine. I love the atmosphere here, the service, the food, and I also love how this place has an owner who comes out and talks to you about the food. Not in the Olive Garden manager role, but ACTUALLY cares what you think.

Friends met for a birthday. First time for all of us. We had an overall wonderful experience. Place was packed and there was a party in the private room. I was in town with a group for a conference, and all four of us loved this place! Though it's tucked into a strip mall, it has white tablecloth (literally) elegance without being too stuffy. The homemade pastas are terrific, and the garlic bread and salad to start are also both a notch above standard. Three in our party ordered glasses of wine, and it was a very generous pour. I'd highly recommend Al Fresco if you're looking for a nice Italian dinner in the Hampton Roads area.

Authentic flavors, slow service, dated interior. Locals love this place, as much for the food as well as the local owners. Hostess stand also serves as the place where to go orders are placed and picked up, and our table was right by this activity. There was a private party going on in side room which resulted in it taking fifty minutes for our order of spaghetti and meatballs to get to our table. Our waiter came by once to apologize for the long wait. Won't go out of our way to dine here again, but would recommend for the tasty local Italian place. Parking: Shopping center in central Newport News. Watch for people asking for money. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchairs.

Unfortunately, the service was subpar. It took 20 minutes for our server to come and ask what we wanted to drink, and even after we placed our drink orders, he just walked away. He didn't check in to see if we wanted appetizers or if we needed help with the menu, which would have been particularly helpful since it was our first visit. It felt like he was annoyed whenever we asked questions. We had to flag him down just to get a refill on our breadsticks and to place our food order. It seemed he was consistently more attentive to his other tables. Additionally, I couldn't help but notice that we were the only Black patrons in the restaurant, and it felt like that might have impacted the leve... Voir le carte
