"The food was excellent here, as well as their waitstaff. And we loved their cocktails. Ours came out with rosemary in it that they lit on fire. It was amazing. This is a very nice and expensive establishment. With drinks, appetizer, and mains our cost for two people was over $300, which we expected. The house is beautiful, and we enjoyed sitting outside on the porch. However, we were very surprised by the attire of the hostesses. We were seated on the porch, where the hostess stand was, and there were three hostesses since it was the weekend. The attire of the hostesses was surprising for such an upscale establishment. All of the patrons were dressed very well, with most men in pants and women in dresses. Two of the hostesses had backless crop tops on, which exposed their entire back and midriffs. One of the hostesses was wearing a very short leopard print skirt. It was so short that we could see her butt cheeks every time she walked. We were seated in the four top right next to the hostess stand, so this was unpleasant for us. After sitting there for about 10 minutes we asked to be moved, and luckily they were able to move us since it was an earlier reservation. It was just surprising that such attire is worn by the hostesses at such an upscale location, especially since the patrons are so nicely dressed. I would expect to see this sort of attire on employees at a bar, or at a Hooters, but not at such an upscale restaurant."

We only had drinks here, but the service was amazing. We sat outside and got the best treatment. The flower bubble fountain thing was so cool. Thanks for the amazing experience to share with our friends from out of town! Voir le carte

The restaurant offers delicious, sophisticated, high-quality cuisine in an elegant setting. While it may be pricey, the food is worth the cost as it is truly exceptional. The scallops, salmon, potatoes, and leeks were all fantastic.

Barrel and Fork in Lake Norman may offer the best dining experience my significant other and I have had since moving to the Charlotte area. The service staff, from the hostesses to the manager, were all incredibly friendly and attentive. We started at the bar with a bartender named Jed, who was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Despite being busy, he took the time to craft incredible drinks for us, making our experience truly unique. Our server Shannon was also fantastic and very attentive. It's rare to find a place that deserves a perfect 10/10 rating, but we honestly couldn't find anything wrong with our experience. We will definitely be returning!

My partner and I dined at Barrel Fork for the first time tonight. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the restaurant's history and menu. Even though I'm not a cocktail drinker, I enjoyed my man's smoked Old Fashioned, which came in a small container to keep the smoke intact. The calamari was flavorful and delicious. Our entrees (filet and scallops) were good, but the appetizers we ordered were on the smaller side. The lobster mac and cheese was overly salty to the point where we couldn't finish it. The truffle fries had a well-made chip-like texture. We ended up spending over $200 for dinner, but it didn't feel entirely worth it. Overall, it wasn't the worst experience, but i... Voir le carte

This was one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life. Our waiter was so aggressive and high strung that he seemed like he was on drugs, and continuously addressed my mother and girlfriend as you guys despite being in a restaurant with $60 entrees and white tablecloths. The first course was fine, but the rest of the food was awful. I ordered a $62 ribeye and asked for it medium, it came out so rare that it was cold in the center and extremely chewy. Inversely, my mother's pasta was so overcooked that it practically disintegrated on the fork. The hostess and the person who dropped off our appetizers (who appeared to also be training a new server) were both nice, but I'd never go back. My girlfriend has been dying to try this spot so we went for dinner. Immediately was greeted by who may have been the owner and was super nice, our waitress and the bartender were also outstanding people and incredibly friendly. The vibe there is a bit like a speakeasy and trendy for sure. But...Drinks were pretty good, very expensive but they were interesting and still good.Salt and vinegar chips with salmon didn't have a whole lot of flavor. Just raw salmon on chips.Calamari ideally would have been crispier and the batter was just ok.Salmon meal was charred too much, not a crust but actual char. Leeks and mashed potatoes really were just bland and nothing to write home about. The salmon mea...

"Ordinary in disguise. My wife and I have been to 2 of the different dressler locations and have not been impressed with either. Sure, the branding is great. The atmosphere isn’t bad. But the food is just far too ordinary. We met in-laws for birthday dinner at the birkdale location. Super nice FOH, waitress was fantastic and attentive. Started with the charcuterie board for the table and Parmesan risotto for our 2.5 year old and ordered wines- which the wine list wasn’t bad either. Risotto was made for a child, even though we confirmed it was made like it typically was. Woefully under-seasoned, slightly crunchy and dry. Not a good risotto at all but hey, my toddler ate it. Charcuterie board was home chef level- basic at best. Maybe 5 saltines on the side of some brown mustard and 3 salamis with cheese chunks. Would not recommend. I ordered the NY strip and wife ordered the Mahi dishes. Had to send back the NY strip as it was charred and acrid even if the center was pink, signs of a grill that is far too hot and a kitchen that rushes. It was unpalatable and I ordered it medium-rare. Opted for the crab cakes instead which were actually fantastic! Potatoes on the side for both were chewy and lacked depth of flavor, average at best. Didn’t have dessert as we had spent enough without a real return on value. Won’t be returning unless it’s for beers and crab cakes at the bar. Food: 2.5/5 Drink: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 3.5/5"

"However, when a waitress approached us shortly after we had sat down with our second plates and asked us to pay, I was caught off guard. I had a mouthful of samosa and gestured to her that I couldn’t speak at the moment, hoping she would take the hint and come back later, but she didn’t. Once I was able to swallow, I reminded her that we thought there was no rush. Surprisingly, she responded with, "You don’t want to pay?" Feeling a bit irritated by her timing, I said it was fine, and I would pay now. When I did pay, she didn’t even acknowledge it with a thank you. Afterward, the table next to us commented on how they saw the whole incident and mentioned that this is how payment is typically collected there. A gentleman from that table, who was born and raised in India, explained that this aggressive approach to collecting payment is a cultural norm. In India, he said, people often negotiate the bill only after finishing their meal, which makes servers a bit defensive about payments. I understand that different cultures shape our behaviors, but that situation left me feeling somewhat embarrassed, which was unfortunate because the food was amazing. I had been craving Indian cuisine since moving here from New York about two years ago. I’d love to come back with my parents, but I might suggest paying upfront to avoid the awkwardness. I gave the restaurant another chance, but unfortunately, I was quite disappointed for a few reasons. We arrived at 1 PM on a Saturday, and since lunch is served until 3 PM, I expected a good selection. However, there was very little food left—no samosas, no chicken in the Tikka Masala, and most other dishes were similarly depleted. I asked the owner if they planned to prepare more, and he assured me they were cooking additional items that would be out soon. Twenty-five minutes later, they finally began bringing out some food, but it felt like too little too late. Several other guests even left after seeing the buffet. The owner explained that they hadn't been busy earlier, so they hadn’t prepared much food. While I understand not wanting to overprepare, if you’re open for business, you should be able to serve customers. Otherwise, it might be better to close for the day. I left feeling very disappointed and don’t think we’ll be returning."
