"**ORDERED ITEM:** Modern Hippie Veggie (with added seitan) **TASTE:** First of all, if you take a quick look at some Yelp photos, you'll see how visually appealing this sandwich is, and mine looked exactly like that. But it’s not just about looks; it tastes amazing and has a wonderful texture as well. The sandwich features crack cheese, avocado, gomasio (a sesame and sea salt blend), tomato, jicama, shredded carrot, cucumber, purple pickled cabbage, fresh lettuce, and mayo on country levain bread. I opted to add seitan for extra protein. There’s a ton of ingredients packed into this sandwich, but everything comes together beautifully, resulting in a truly fantastic meal. The vegetables were all incredibly fresh and crisp, making the sandwich feel refreshing. In terms of flavor, the crack cheese has a tangy note similar to hummus. The sweetness from the carrots, the light pickling of the cabbage, the heartiness of the seitan, and the nuttiness from the gomasio blend harmoniously to create a delicious bite. I could easily eat this sandwich several times a week without any guilt. The levain bread has a nice sourdough vibe, just so you know. It’s also generously sized, making it shareable for two if you’re not too hungry. **SERVICE:** The cashier who took my order was friendly and had a positive attitude, which always makes the food taste better. You simply place your order at the register, and they bring the food to your table. I arrived about 30 minutes after they opened (11 AM) on Saturday of Labor Day weekend, and I was able to walk right in, order, and sit down without waiting. "J'ai fait une réservation pour 7h30. C'était l'anniversaire de mon fils. Nous avons également séjourné au River Crab Hotel. Nous nous sommes assis à 7h45. À 8 h 05, personne n'était venu à notre table. J'ai dû demander de l'eau et à 8 h 15, un garçon nous a apporté de l'eau et a dit qu'il enverrait une serveuse. 8h30 aucune serveuse ne s'est levée et a demandé à l'hôtesse d'envoyer une serveuse s'il vous plaît. 8:40 personne pour le moment. Chaque serveuse a distribué la table comme si nous n'étions même pas là. J'étais tellement bouleversé que nous nous sommes levés et avons quitté le restaurant pour aller ailleurs. Nous étions quatre et l'anniversaire de mon fils était totalement ruiné !!!!! Je n'ai jamais été aussi mal traité dans un restaurant de ma vie. Je ne manquerai pas de parler à mes amis du terrible service que nous avons reçu. PAS d'excuses pour ce genre de service !!!!!!!!!"

"The singer was amazing was the hilite of our evening. I came with 3 friends that have never been to Mastros- we ordered the shucked raw oysters to start I have never been to any restaurant that didn’t cut the oyster from the shell!!! We had to cut it with our knives pick the shells out of our mouths… horrible! It was like eating egg shells. I asked the server if this is normal (as it’s very strange) she said no- that’s not normal she’ll mention it to the chef… nothing was ever done or mentioned again to us. When we got the bill, we waited over 40minutes for anyone to come back to us… we finally waived down another server she started to process our bill. Our server finally came back apologized saying she got stuck downstairs (whatever that means). We ended up being there for almost 4hrs!!!! I’ve been to Mastros several times never had such bad service… sadly my friends won’t likely come back."

"I'm not sure if the issue lies with Open Table or the restaurant itself. I booked a table for two, which was supposedly the "only available time slot" according to the app. When I tried to change the reservation to four people, the app indicated that there were no tables available. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, we noticed that many tables were empty and stayed that way throughout our visit. When I asked the hostess about this, she informed me that any modifications needed to be made by phone."
