"As a recent Zimbabwean transplant, I was excited to try out the famed food at Cafe Rue Dix, a Senegalese-French spot tucked away in Bedford. While the overall experience was decent, a few aspects fell short of my expectations. The starters, Bissap and Bouye, traditional Senegalese beverages, were a welcome change from the usual. However, the Senegalese Spring Rolls, though flavorful, came with a hefty $18 price tag for just four pieces, which seemed rather steep. The main courses, Thiebou Jen and Dibi Senegal with Attiéké, introduced me to a new range of flavors. The Thiebou Jen was a hearty combination of fish, rice, and vegetables, adequately seasoned but lacked a 'wow ' factor. The Dibi Senegal, although spiced well, left me slightly disappointed. The lamb chops were a bit chewy, lacking the succulence I 'd hoped for. The Attiéké, a couscous-like side made from cassava, was a novel experience, but it wasn 't enough to elevate the overall dish. The Sweet Potato Fries, while enjoyable, felt overpriced at $12. Though crispy and well-seasoned, they didn 't quite justify the cost. The service was good, with attentive staff, and the outdoor setting was pleasant on a breezy day. However, the high prices, coupled with food that didn 't quite hit the mark, made the overall experience a bit of a letdown. Cafe Rue Dix does offer a unique introduction to Senegalese-French cuisine, but be prepared for the cost and manage your expectations about the food. It 's a place worth trying if you 're curious about Senegalese cuisine, but it may not completely dazzle your taste buds."

Café rue dix has my favorite burger and French toast in NYC (truly! . The ambiance is great during happy hour as well. If the food was a tad cheaper, I would probably come here everyday to work or grab lunch. If you're dining out, I would recommend picking up your order instead of getting it delivered. I tried the Senegalese spring rolls, a spicy mix of ground meat, shrimp, and herbs, along with the country's national dish: braised chicken over spicy rice and stewed vegetables. The service was top-notch and the atmosphere was welcoming with a friendly, local bar crowd. I definitely recommend this place and look forward to bringing my friends here to try it out.

I came across this amazing restaurant while searching for a place to watch AFCON 2023, which is taking place in Cote D'Ivoire. This place is fantastic, very relaxed unless I'm cheering for two African teams playing. But let's talk about the food and staff first. I must applaud the restroom decor, with stamps from all over the world covering the walls, it feels like traveling through time. The food is absolutely delicious, offering Senegalese cuisine that is soul-satisfying. The lamb literally melts off the bone, creating a wonderful mood. There are also vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. The drinks, such as Bissap, ginger juice, and ginger tea, are amazing. I haven't tried the alcohol...

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
