"we asked ourselves in our hotel and some people beat the carriage house. we called and made reservations for 7:30 and we were asked to come 7:45. we went at 7:43 and waited just a few minutes. we sat next to a few people from arizona and had a good talk with them while we waited for our server. the kitchen was busy like the staff. it took a while before we got water and drinks. it took a because to get our server also introduced us. our server was amelia, an Irish woman with a lovely accent, she took our command and whispered away. while we waited for our dinners, the couple was served next to us, unfortunately the order was wrong, the couple had ordered a hamburger and instead got the iron steak entree. after the chat with the server she returned her hanger steak back. 20 minutes later our order came up and my wife’s scampi looked great like my coat hanger steak. except the steak was cold. the carrots and the green beans were warm so my server was apprehended and took the plate back into the kitchen when it was returned, I had now a medium good hanging steak instead of medium rare. not really a big problem, but disappointed to say the least. it was a bit chewing. my server wanted to send it back, but my wife was almost done, it was late to make the steak, I thought we would try the cream robe. It was just okay. all in all, I am not sure that we would eat here again on the basis of the price and experience. I'm pretty sure the hanger steak i was served was the same steak that was served next to us. our server has tried to remove the escape, but on mysterious wise the owner or management was no longer there. amelia was a tasty bite and made our experience worth."

"So we had just been to the beach at Ocean Point collecting Seaglass and stopped at East Boothbay general store on the way back to Boothbay Harbor to get some lunch. Our hands were salty from sifting through the sand and Diane, the lady behind the counter at the general store, offered us warm damp towels to wipe our hands on! Now that is service! The lobster roll we had was the largest I've ever seen and quite tasty. Perfect for sharing. Recommend a stop here."

"The Seagull Shop restaurant is everything you could hope for. The food is delicious, and the service is excellent! The location is stunning, offering an unobstructed view of Monhegan Island and right next to Maine's most beloved (and voted best) lighthouse. The gift shop is another great reason to make the trip. Feel free to bring your own alcoholic beverages, and they’ll make sure you have everything you need to enjoy them!"

"What a gem!!! This place has the most amazing breakfast. Everything was fresh and made to order. My husband and I stumbled upon it during a visit to the Tide pools. My husband had the veggie deluxe sandwich, a side of hash and fresh squeezed OJ. I ordered the Irish sandwich (hash), a cinnamon bun and iced coffee. Everything was delicious. The veggies were so fresh, the baked goods (included the bread) took the prize. Mary Dee the owner was lovely to chat with. Took home a slice of lemon cake, a cookie and have a sheet pan of cinnamon rolls. Definitely worth the visit. Go early before she sells out of buns. We missed out on the sticky buns but gives us a reason to go back!!!"

"I am amazed that this restaurant is thriving this summer despite the challenges in the restaurant industry. I am thankful for their great location overlooking beautiful Christmas Bay in Maine. While many dishes are good, the standout for me this summer was the steamed mussels from Prince Edward Island, Canada. They are served with a delicious garlic-wine sauce that is to die for. The beer and wine selections are also top-notch. The restaurant is owned by a local entrepreneur who curates fantastic musical performances for their summer concert series on Sundays. Reservations fill up quickly, so it's wise to book in advance if you plan on dining on concert days. I am already looking forward to incorporating a visit to the concert series into my plans for next summer."
