"we have a holiday home in the Ogunquit region for almost 2 years, and I'm embarrassing to say that this past weekend is the first time that we dinner in the north union. Now that we have tried them, they will be on our list. initially the ambiente is super cool. elegant and yet relaxed at the same time. many recovered wood mixed with formal banquet style sitting and benches. we were a party of four and had luck enough to get a private little dining room that felt like we were in someone's house. the sitting areas, one we saw, what a huge blunt of a tree root and two chairs are as unique as eating. the menu is disassembled in appetizers or snacks small teller and large teller that the main courses are disassembled. we had a reservation of 8 o'clock and dimmed slowly over two and a half hours. without pressure on our table. all this food is unique and inspired and naturally artistically presented. I don't think you could go wrong with a menu item. for an appetizer we have made a charcuterie board with cheese and prosciutto as well as some roasted carrots and an olive assortment. four main courses, we tried a pigeon that is duck and laughs. the only thing I could notice is that if they are someone who likes huge portions, then this restaurant would not be for them. the most important cure are on the smaller side, but eating is so delightful that it is completely satisfied at the end. we will definitely return to a special evening in the north union or enjoy."

"Always lovely at The Tiller but this was my first breakfast/midday meal. Love that there are so many gluten free options and that wait staff are so knowledgeable regarding allergies, etc. I don't find the prices to be overstated especially given the quality of food, service and of course, that view. While you don't need to be staying on site to eat, you will want to make reservations. The only downside is that fellow diners can be a bit much... taking pictures, loud demands. You can pretty much wear anything and it's family friendly esp. mid-morning. Great end to our stay in town."

"this is the first time that we were disappointed in many years in a meal at the old village inn. my man ordered the rib eye, and it was maybe 1/2 inch thick and also a very small cut. for $36.00, we expected a nice rib eye. we should probably have made it aware of someone, but we didn't want to wait for another while the rest of us ate."

"Everyone on staff was marvelous. James the host was exceptional and we enjoyed his friendly and quick wit throughout our experience at Clay Hill. We had three servers taking care of our table and each was very efficient, pleasant and a joy to be with. It's out of the way, but well worth the trip. Parking: The valet was excellent. "for ambiance the setting is a 10. Loved the double candles on all the tables, huge windows with great Shore Rd view. Most tables are large, a plus. For starters, the bread with garlic oil is excellent...the menu is a little challenging, too much sausage and bacon added into the appetizers, including the chowder. not a fan of sausage and bacon! tried the fried oyster appetizer, NO LEMON wedge! could not get waitress in time, ended up eating all of them with no lemon, after asking took too long to get one, ...these were deeply fried, slightly greasy, and on verge of not golden, almost well done...so not worth the price. 17.00 They were served with tarter sauce only that looked as if it sat out *uncovered, huge bowl of it. yuk, good way to ruin oyster flavor Service is great, but one waitress is doing too many tables, if not half of the entire dining room. For entree's tried Clam vongole over linquine, verge of too much chili pepper, hot! and husband tried a meat dish with Frittes, these are very thin fried, excellent. Desserts good. *Problem was we went back a 2nd time during the week, and the Frittes were almost burnt, served dark brown, ! really chef should have caught that, we ate them, no enjoyment in that! and pricey!!! Not good at all. This will keep me from ever returning. Had to ask for cocktail napkins which they have, but do not give out! when you order very expensive drinks ...to keep table dry with all the water and drinks. The worst was the apple crisp dessert, the 2nd visit it was totally covered in big hard as a rock sugar cubes, afraid of breaking teeth eating it...not good on the 2nd visit. Hint to the chef or whoever makes the apple dessert, use powdered sugar like they do in Italy it would have made this dessert excellent. So, I wouldn't come back again, based on the high prices combined with inconsistent cooking/food prep. an example on first visit side asparagus was Highly salted, not good, on second visit it was normal on the salt. Reservations almost exclusively. It was fun to try something different, but the problems with the over salting, no lemons served with expensive oyster app, hard sugar cubes covering a delicious apple crisp, burnt Frittes, and high price....will try other places. Hope this review is well taken."
