"Perhaps we hit them on a bad day, but it was noon on a Saturday, the place just opened w/ little patronage. My son, who's gone here before, raved about this place. It took far too long, at the bar, to get a beer and the wings were way over cooked and under sauced. I'm willing to give this place a 2nd chance, but I'm not impressed at this point! I had much higher hopes. On a positive, the place is very welcoming and looks well maintained. I certainly appreciate your response. Being 3 seats away, you would have noticed both, my son and I looking around to place our drink order, wondering where the waitstaff was. I understand you will attempt to rectify your position and the reflection of this review. I truly hope, that should I return to your establishment, the timeliness of your waitstaff improves. In all honesty, the establishment is very nice, the waitstaff friendly, and I'm sure, aside from this visit, the food is exceptional. I wish you and your business great successes!"

"A few weeks ago I came to Papa Al 's from out of town for a hot date. This restaurant was suggested to me by a coworker, so I gave it a go. I was hopeful that a little Italian spot with spark some romance in the palmerton area! The first sign of trouble was when we opened the menu and every food items price was crossed out in black permanent marker. Why not just replace the menus? The server was relatively new and had a hard time suggesting much of anything. We ordered the arancini with vodka sauce. It was served already cut open and slathered in a blush sauce. The arancini was not crispy and definitely wasn 't made with anything resembling arborio rice. More importantly the entire thing was bland and unseasoned, and the vodka sauce had never seen any of the core ingredients required for such a name including vodka. Unortunately this was the best part of the meal. I ordered their aglio e olio dish with red pepper flakes and anchovy A simple dish with few core ingredients. What I received was an oily, lukewarm dish of spaghetti covered in jar lic (preminced, jarred garlic), that was so fishy I couldn 't eat it. I can only presume that they added anchovy (preserve) oil into the pasta. Having made this at home a hundred times, I can guarantee it never saw a proper emulsion needed to bind the pasta and olive oil. My date ordered a pesto dish. What she was served looked more like an oily, microwaved pesto with a dark green hue more typical of burnt or wilted herbs. Moreover it tasted like dried basil was actually used to prepare it. Without eating much we quickly paid and left. Just outside we found the first trash can and discarded what could have been the worst entrees I had ever seen. Unfortunately, the bad food experience put a damper on the entire date and we never tried a second. I would advise everyone to steer clear of this place as it will surely be making people very sick, or featured on a restaurant rescue TV show where they 'll discover the owner no longer cares about what 's going out to the customers. Perhaps a little too late, I asked my coworker who suggested this place what they typically ordered. She said Pizza . We are no longer friends."

"We had a fantastic experience with great service at this restaurant. We called in advance to order 7 pizzas for our group of 18 people, and the staff was extremely friendly. They brought fresh pizzas to our private room throughout the meal. The pizzas, including the white pizza, taco pizzas (could have used more meat but still tasty), and cheese pizzas, were all delicious. The pizzas were hot and flavorful. The restaurant was clean, and the staff made sure our group had everything we needed. We really appreciated their assistance after a morning of snow tubing with teenagers. Thank you for being so accommodating!"

"The place is cute, chalk board tables, piano, but the one worker had a bad attitude and was very rude. When my family walked in we were the only ones there to order, the only other customers were leaving. Before I ordered anything I asked if the ice cream had egg in it(my son had a severe egg allergy) she started looking through a bunch of binders and I 'm standing waiting for an answer when more customers walked in and she then completely ignored me and started serving everyone else. She ignored for 5 more minutes to where I had my husband ask another worker. That worker didn 't have an answer so she asked the worker I was being ignored by who looked at my husband and said there 's no egg . I could 've gotten that answer 10 minutes ago. Frustrated by the lack of customer service. If you work with ice cream and candy maybe have a sweeter attitude? So sour, I would 've left and never bought anything if it wasn 't my son 's birthday.
