"First, the good: Our server, Sam, was very good at his job. He was attentive and knowledgeable which my partner and I always appreciate. The food was exceptional as always and we were very satisfied until the end of the night. The bad: At the beginning of the night, our server asked about allergies. We made sure to say my fiancé is allergic to strawberries which the server noted. Later that night, they brought us a celebratory crem brulee for our anniversary that was covered in strawberries. We were disappointed but didn 't make a fuss and I ate it after picking the strawberries off. Our server, realizing the error brought us a fresh brule minus the strawberries which my fiancé ate. It should be noted my fiancé 's allergy activates when food is ingested, not when touched or smelled. We paid our check and then went to the car which parking is also awful where his throat began to close. He 's fine, we responded quickly and to the level of his reaction. I called the restaurant to alert them of what happened and this is where they lost me. The complete lack of care and and intent to make this right was disgusting. The manager, Amber ? even went as far as to imply that I caused his reaction. Mind you, after eating I didn 't touch or kiss him on our anniversary because of his allergy but sure I caused this. Our guess is someone didn 't change their gloves or the strawberries were added and then removed when someone noticed the error. We don 't know. Either way he was bedridden the rest of the night, 4 year anniversary ruined."

"OMG! They were so, busy. There was a wait for tables inside and outside. However, when you are a single man and are dining alone, you can easily sit at the end of the bar next to the huge rooster. He is now my new drinking buddy. I named him, Charlie. After squeezing into my space, I immediately ordered a Top Shelf Margarita. They go down so smoothly, but I 'll warn you. They are super boozy, but you may not notice it until you get ready to leave, so be careful. Those of you who are into frozen and fruity Margaritas, they are some of the best here. I am more of a traditional guy, but I have been known to throw one down on occasion. I liked that the bartender aka my server, asked if I wanted chips and salsa. Sometimes I order nachos and don 't need or want the complimentary chips. However, tonight was a chip and salsa night, I wanted them. I really enjoy their thick and chunky salsa. It has large pieces of tomato and you can see pieces of the fresh spices. My chips were delivered still fairly warm, so I knew they were truly fresh. To accompany my chips and salsa, I decided to order the, Chile Con Queso. It 's made of spicy cheese fondue and blended with jalapeños, onions and tomatoes. It had me at, jalapeños. Not seeing, plain queso on the menu, I thought I was safe, just ordering queso . Wrong. I was served, the plain ole white cheese queso. That was on me, I just went with the flow. Good thing about dining alone, I could double dip. Dip in cheese and then the salsa, I kinda created my own special dip. For tonights entree, I selected the Fajita Quesadilla with Grilled Chicken. Since I missed out on the jalapeños in my queso, I asked for them to be added to the quesadilla. I would have thought they 'd add them to the inside as they were grilling it, but they just added a fist full to the plate on the side. I had to add them to the inside myself. If they would have done that for me, this could have been a 5 Star review. However, I do have to give them a huge shout out for the way they slice and serve the quesadilla. It was sliced into six individual pie shaped pieces. That are very easy to handle and eat. I 've discovered since I moved to the IL side of the river, many of the Mexican restaurants do not slice their quesadillas, they serve them in one BIG piece. The bartender did a great job taking care of the guest dining at the bar and keeping up with drink orders for the other servers. She truly had some pep in her step. When: August 13, 2021 Why: Craving Mexican cuisine."
