"Very surprised to see this restaurant received a Michelin Star. The food was excellent, and beautifully presented. The sticky rice with caviar (yes really) was amazing. The oysters with foam divine, and the sashimi style « rosette » truly great. Yet, a star should support a great experience overall, and it is here that Addison falls quite short. All the more upsetting at this price. The space is all wrong. Even allowing for Covid era distancing, it feels institutional. Is this a train station? A wedding venue pre- decoration? No ambiance. No sense of occasion. Not remotely minimalist. The decor is confused. The music matched neither space, place, occasion or cuisine and was actually so discordant that it was distracting. Reception and bar service was just poor. We were not so much greeted as checked in. We were then abandoned at the bar. Over minutes before we were even addressed in order to order a cocktail. No one offered to check our coats, and when we asked we were told to carry them until someone could get to it. Yet the place was not even close to capacity. The term « experience «  was repeated a lot, but no insight to the evening’s tasting menu was offered at booking, any of confirmations or even upon seating. We learned only as each course was served. Table service was generally smooth, though a bit offensive at first. Our Captain greeted us by suggesting we upgrade from the per person tasting menu to a premium menu featuring wagyu beef and truffles. Still offering no insight to the standard menu. We declined the per person upgrade. Wine pairing was excellent and efficient though overpriced at per person. We have dined at many Michelin star restaurants and found Addison a great disappointment, overall. We discourage dining here. The chef is superb though, and deserves a new space or a redesign and a skilled re-working of « front of house »"

"Went here for breakfast recently and after many days decided to write a review. We arrived at around 10A. The line was relatively short with only a handful of patrons in front of us. The line to order took about 8 minutes, give or take. After looking over the menu I ordered the Pesto Avocado Toast and an iced chai tea latte. I also tried to order a dessert for later but they didn't have several of the ones I wanted so I settled on a cheese danish. We found a table right away and sat down. After a couple tens of minutes we started feeling like it was taking a long time. I looked at our receipt and noticed we placed our order 26 minutes prior (the receipt was time stamped). I decided to give them 4 more minutes before heading up to the counter to inquire about our order. They said that they were busy. And, just for reference, the patio was fairly empty and there were several tables available inside, so they weren't, in my opinion, 30 minute wait for food busy. Interestingly, right after i asked, our food came out. So either it was good timing or it was already ready and just sitting back there in the kitchen. Either way, 30 minutes is a terribly long wait for food. I'll only review my food. The pesto avocado toast was blah. The lettuce on top was shredded iceberg and, it was sad and starting to wilt and brown around the edges. It added no flavor or texture to the toast whatsoever. And it actually made the toast look quite sad and unattractive. The pesto was actually mixed into the avocado...weird. I don't know, but I expected the avocado to be smashed, the pesto to be drizzled over the top, the lettuce to be something else all together...the best part was the crumbled cheese. My chai was tasty, thankfully. Later in the day when i ate my danish i wasn't blown away, at all. The cheese portion wasn't very flavorful. Again, just kinda blah. Overall, if you're looking for a gathering spot, i guess this is a cool-ish place, centrally located. But the wait for food isn't great and i wasn't blown away by any means by the food. Edit: addition after response from business owner...I'm glad to hear you're switching up the lettuce because it was just not working. Hopefully the mixed greens will be better. To address the long wait, however, perhaps having more staff in the kitchen to accommodate for your unusually large amounts of door dash orders would be a good idea. Leaving people waiting for 30+ minutes is still, in my opinion, inexcusable. Especially at breakfast...eggs and smashed avocado shouldn't take that long. I've absolutely been to places that have been packed full and haven't waited that long. So I'm not sure what's going on in your kitchen."

"I would give the food a 3.5 but since there are no half stars, I'm giving it a 4 since the French Onion Soup was so freaking good. The atmosphere at this restaurant was perfect and just what we expected. Service at the bar was quick and the drinks were very good. The rest of the service was okay but not what was expected at a restaurant with these price points. My friends and I had a drink at the bar. We were told our table was ready and were getting ready to settle up to move to our table when an employee came up, told us our table was ready and which table it was, told us the menus were already there, and that we should just go over when we were done. We carried our drinks and bread ourselves to our table. This restaurant is not huge and the bar is right near the host stand, so it would not have been difficult to see when we were ready to move. Our server was quick to get to our table but the whole night, the service felt rushed and chaotic. The food was appropriately spaced out but it just seemed like the server or person running the food was in a huge rush every time they were near our table. When I'm paying $20+ for appetizers, I expect food runners to know where to put them on the table. My friend ordered the mussels which are a whole section on the menu. Somehow, our server didn't know the were out. Not sure how they were out of mussels when it's such a huge part of their menu. Not only did she have to change her order, but the server never bothered to take them off our check. We had the escargot which was fine but needed salt. The octopus was excellent though the goat cheese was not flavorful. The beef bourguignon was a little dry but the sauce was excellent. The French onion soup was perfect. The duck confit was also a little dry. The Fruits de Mer was swimming in butter and oil and did not have much flavor but the shrimp were huge. The food is very buttery (expected in a French restaurant) and the bread is very flaky (in a good way) which means our paper tablecloth got very dirty. There was no attempt to clean it before dessert. We ordered the chocolate mousse with seasonal berries and the server told us there were blackberries and raspberries (when I explained I have a blueberry allergy). We said that was perfect. The dish came out with 4 half strawberries. I mentioned this to the server and she seemed annoyed and came back with a dish with 7 blackberries. After we finished our dessert, our server was nowhere to be found. We had to ask another server to get her after waiting for at least 15 minutes. It was close to closing time so I'm sure she was doing closing sidework but as a former server, I know this is a time you should be around. The automatic tip options START at 20% on their credit card machine. I left 20% because it was easiest and we were ready to go, but the service wasn't at 20% level. It wasn't terrible, but the chaotic feeling, the dessert issue, the lack of mussels (maybe or maybe not our servers fault) the check issue, and not being around when we were done put me off."
