If you want great old school, homemade Italian food with portions large enough to share and a delightful and affordable deli and market attached, do not miss this restaurant! We loved every bite of our Chicken Picatta and Cesar Salad (one order we shared at the recommendation of our fantastic server), and we then purchased two bottles of Sicilian wine at the market before calling it a night.

Best pizza. This place has been in San Diego for many years and when you walk in it feels like a family. The pizza is thin crust with fresh sauce and so much yummy cheese! Pasta and sandwiches are great. Prices are one of the lowest for the area. Pizzas arehuge and shareable run about $15. Parking can be a little crazy but find a spot and go eat here you will not retreat it. This isour family?s go to restaurant!

We ordered the spaghetti and meat ravioli, along with a spaghetti dinner, both of which came with a choice of salad or soup and garlic bread. We customized our garlic bread to include cheese, and it was all absolutely delicious! The portion sizes were just right, and the prices are fantastic for such high-quality, authentic Italian food. This is definitely the best pizza I've had! It might be a bit pricey and on the smaller side, but totally worth it. I ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza, and they actually use real sausage—not those tiny, unidentifiable bits you often find. There’s just the right amount of cheese and sauce, too. The crust is crispy on the outside while still being flexible enough to fold like a true New Yorker. The only downside was that the pizza was cut unevenly; some slices were huge while others were quite small. But the tiramisu? Absolutely to die for!

Mona Lisa Italian Foods is right in the mi of Little Italy in San Diego. Lovely place with a deli, grocery store, and full seat down restaurant. this place gets 5 stars for authenticity. We ordered sandwiches, salads, and the breadsticks and it was all delicious. The marinara sauce was so good that we went back the next day and purchased a few tubs full. You'll find everything you need to make the perfect Italian dish at the home, or you can simply get a table and have them do it for you. I will visit this lovely place every time I'm in San Diego.

Coming here to the Mona Lisa was absolutely amazing! My two brothers and I had a wonderful experience with our server named Kyle. He was very attentive, kind, and efficient in his service. I hope the owners or manager of this restaurant acknowledges Kyle for his superb service especially because he made us feel so welcomed like we were all friends. As for the food it was a 10/10 for freshness with amazing flavors. They also served free bread. From my brother?s opinion he enjoyed the cocktails Kyle served. We will definitely come back for sure! It was late at night during our trip to San Diego, and we were eager to indulge in some authentic Italian cuisine. We were relieved to find this restaurant open, but unfortunately, the reviews we had read were accurate regarding the sauce. It was both bland and overly acidic. We ordered half a portion of ravioli, spaghetti with sausage, and garlic bread, which turned out to be quite hard. Perhaps this is how authentic Italian sauce is meant to taste, but we found ourselves adding salt, Parmesan cheese, and some spices just to improve the flavor. Although we were hungry and have a love for Italian food, the meal didn't leave a lasting impression, and we ended up feeling quite disappointed.

Not really sure why this place has so many reviews. Not so great. I came here for my birthday and I expected really good Italian. It has your basic Italian food that I can make at home. When I say "make at home"? I guess I can make fresh pasta. That's probably why it's connected to the store. The store is much better than the restaurant. In the restaurant I have Rigatoni with her meat sauce. There wasn't much meat in there. Felt like a can tomato paste on dry noodles. Iced tea tastes like quite basic Nestle tea. Mona Lisa is a classic Italian spot in SD on the very northern edge of Little Italy. The building has two parts: one is the deli and shop (which is fabulous) and the other is the restaurant (which this review covers). The restaurant is relaxed and chill, nice for a date or a family dinner vibe. The staff are prompt and courteous, and check in regularly. The menu isn?t gigantic but it has a wide selection of pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, meat entrees, salads, and seafood. For all the upsides of the restaurant, the actual food itself isn?t much to write home about. Don?t get me wrong?it?s decent, and certainly not bad tasting, undercooked, or badly prepared.
