"A sad shadow of its former self. After reopening, seemingly under new ownership and definitely under new management, this restaurant has gone way downhill. The food, when they have it, is still very good. But don’t sit down before they tell you what they don’t have. On a Friday evening they had no fish, no pate (keep in mind this is a French restaurant) and no green salad. How can a restaurant that has grocery stores within a couple blocks run out of green salad? They also have only a few very basic desserts. Again, a high end French restaurant should have the classic French desserts and one or two less common ones. Nope. All very sad considering how good the old Mistral under the prior owner had been. Maybe Park Slope just can’t support a nice French restaurant."

The perfectly cooked duck and chicken paired with the Sauvignon blanc made for a wonderful dinner.

I had that scallops and my wife had the arctic char. For an appetizer we split the vegetable terrine. All the food was delicious.

Duck and sea bass were excellent. Mussels were okay but not special. Beautiful salads. Okay pâté. Excellent service and ambience. Visualizza piatti

We've dined here several times, and it never fails to impress. The wine list is somewhat expensive, but it features some excellent choices. We definitely plan to return.

Excellent brunch experience! It was my wife's birthday and they catered to us as soon as we entered the restaurant. The food was delicious and served expeditiously. The live jazz band was wonderful! They riffed a little Birthday song for her, which we will never forget. We are thankful for the kind service. We will be sure to return soon!

This place is a true park slope gem. I believe a new owner came in, and since, the place is a truly wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Every time my fiancé and I walk by we are so delighted with the beautiful atmosphere. We come here mainly for brunch on the weekends and it’s always delicious and the service is great. They even have live jazz on Sunday afternoons. The owner/manager is one of the nicest we’ve ever experienced. Very caring and wants to make sure you have a wonderful experience. The atmosphere takes me straight to Europe, and what is better than a French cafe right in the heart of park slope? :

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
