It could have been a five-star experience. We had a fantastic meal, and our waitress was exceptional! As travelers heading to Illinois for New Year's Eve tomorrow, we were looking for a quick bite before hitting the road. Cracker Barrel, please streamline your register process! Unfortunately, Jacque, the manager, was quite the opposite; it took an eternity to settle our bill. Almost five stars, but not quite there!

eating was okay, except the land of my manne, which was fried steak, which was a small part of processed meat, which everyone could buy frozen in a food store and heat up in a microshaft. my main complaint was the bad service. They said a 15-minute waiting period that turned into a 35-minute waiting period because the host lost the waiting list with our name. we cost them 10 minutes. the server was a little rude. the whole visit lasted two hours! My wife and I enjoyed the meatloaf lunch special, and it was delicious with fantastic flavor. The mashed potatoes with gravy and fried okra were also a real treat—so good! The service was outstanding; despite the restaurant being a bit busy, we only waited about five minutes. The staff were friendly and attentive. We always love the excellent home-cooked meals here and have never experienced any issues or bad food. And make sure to order extra biscuits and cornbread muffins—they're a must-have! As for accessibility, there is a wheelchair access at the front entrance.

I have not been a fan of Cracker Barrel in the past. Seems like they never pass up opportunity to mess up my order. No matter what I order they seem to always get something wrong. So I stopped going for a long time. Well, I gave it another try as I was with a group that wanted Cracker Barrel breakfast. I will say, it was good and they got everything right. I had the double meat breakfast, no complaints. The bacon was fried right, the eggs were right and the breakfast biscuits were perfect. I also had a side of grits and they were great too. I ordered the shrimp with hush puppies. My husband ordered the fried chicken and the waiter came back and said that they could not cook that at that time of night, it was just after 8pm. He ordered the chicken fried chicken. We got our food in around 5 minutes. His was ok, but my shrimp and hush puppies were dark and looked like they had been in a warming tray all afternoon. I think that they dumped all the leftovers from the day on my plate. I could not even finish it! There were others that came in after we did, but it seemed that everyone was more interested in going home than giving a customer a good experience.
