Special occasion place. Loved looking out at the animals, nature and lake. I had the scallops, risotto and it was heavenly. My husband had the hash. Would definitely come back! Lots of cute little nooks to sit. I loved sitting outside. Especially on a sunny day.

I recently heard this place was going OB. Despite the ravings of loyal/local yelp customers, this place was nothing more than an average restaurant. It managed to survive for a half decade because, lets face it, how much competition in fine-dining do they have in Brooklyn CT?!

Simply beautiful and thrilling! What an amazing experience, from the cozy barn with warm cocktails to the hayride (the coldest one ever), featuring guitar music and singing by Susan Lamb—it was truly lovely! Took my wife out for a birthday dinner which I made reservations for months before and mention I was taking my wife out for her birthday. The moment we walked we knew this place was special they greeted us with complete respect and hospitality took our drink orders and a couple min later a man on the piano. The scene,the music, the hay ride, the atmosphere, the drinks, and the food was all spectacular. My husband and I had an exceptional evening at Golden Lamb Buttery. My husband took me for my birthday and it was truly special. We arrived a few minutes early and the staff was as accommodating as can be. They ran off to get us some warm cider. We got on the hayride soon after and although it was dark November) it was warm and cozy under the blankets and we loved the guitar and singing. I feel incredibly fortunate that my sister and I took a wrong turn down a country road and discovered The Buttery. Seriously, check a map – it's located in the middle of nowhere! But what a fantastic place it is. If you do a quick Google search, you'll find some fascinating history about it. The restaurant is set in a beautiful old farmhouse, and upon arrival, the servers graciously give you a tour, including a walkthrough of the kitchen to your table. It's simply charming. This place is not only somewhere to enjoy a nice meal, it is also an experience that everyone must try. When you arrive you are you are immediately greeted and taken care of by your server. Enjoy drinks inside the barn among the antiques or go out on the back deck and enjoy the beautiful views of the property. Go back out the front door and take a hayride around the property with the musician playing the guitar. Our waitress, Morgan, provided attentive service without being overbearing, which was perfect. She recommended the evening’s specialty cocktail, the Ruby Slipper, a refreshing mix of vodka, raspberry schnapps, prosecco, and a raspberry—it was delicious! This farm house restaurant is the perfect example of 5 stars. I could not have had a better experience. The Golden Lamb Buttery was AMAZING. My boyfriends family took the lot of us to this beautiful country establishment for some holiday family fun. The drive was dark and through backroads of beautiful Connecticut farmland, but was easily located off the road. The place is a big barn, complete with gift shop, that hosts historic pictures and articles all over the walls.
