My wife and I have been to Papertown for years. The ice cream was one of the reasons we went there. On our visit on 8/18/24 we decided to go get ice cream. To our surprise the ice cream was grainy and not very appealing. I understand that sometimes things need to change but the ice cream should not be the area to skimp on. McDonald ice cream was better than this.

Good Food. Good prices. Very good ice cream! Service was a slight wait but they were busier than expected. And server apologized for it. Food was prepared quickly. Good, old time Ice cream shop feel! This place used to have the best soft serve ice cream in town, but I just paid $12.41 for 2x waffle cones with GRAINY raspberry soft serve ice cream in them. Not worth it. Also, this place really needs to get up with the times and take payment methods other than cash. Nobody under the age of 40 carries cash anymore! The service we did get wasn't bad, but we barely got any service at all. The food was mediocre, honestly could have made it better at home. The place completely lacked atmosphere as well. It definitely felt like somewhere I would have went with my great grandparents to get breakfast in the 90s. We have no plans of going back. In the Year of Our Lord Twenty Twenty four, when even children selling cookies have figured out how to take electronic payment, Papertown is cash only. Okay, I guess I just went to Hardee's. I'd rather support a small business, but the coorperare burger chain actually wanted my money. I wonder if the owner will see this review, or if I should telegram them instead? Me and my friends stop in here often so I figured it was only fair to finally give them a shake on here. The diner is small and frequent in by locals. Several locals, but that's what makes it a nice hometown environment. It's because of this Dad. You find yourself with pleasant wait staff. Delicious food and receiving your meal in a decent time frame. The most important thing you must remember is this is a cash only establishment. We went on a busy Sunday afternoon. The server was very busy, so she wasn't able to get to us or check on us as often as usual. Normally, I'd give 5 stars for service. Something was different about the flurry I had this time. It left a little bit of a film in my mouth after eating it. This is not typical of their ice cream. My boys and I have enjoyed their ice cream on many other occasions. Today was different, so I only gave the 4 stars for this visit. We came in today, after not coming in for a few years and it wasn’t a good experience. We were asked what we wanted to drink before we even had menus. Then when we got them to look over they charge to change the type of bread on a sandwich and charge to add cheese. I ordered a sandwich and asked for mayonnaise and when it came there was enough butter to give someone a heart attack then a small smear of mayo on top of the butter! I didn’t even eat the bread I was up charged for. The check was out on the table when we got our food so even if we wanted to order something else we would have had to track down on waitress.
