"This place is clearly very popular because there was a queue outside the restaurant before it opened for 5:30 p.m. dinner service on a very rainy Saturday night. Once open, the restaurant quickly filled up with diners. Tables tend to be closer together because of how busy it gets, and there are a lot of hard surfaces, meaning things can get a little loud. Service was the right level of attentive: staff were very friendly and they were good about clearing plates and utensils when it’s clear diners are done eating. The daily fish specials are posted on a chalkboard inside. Overall, the food was very good. The buffalo brussel sprouts with whipped blue cheese were very good but for $18? Feels steep. My husband enjoyed his tuna, which was served like an elevated poke bowl and had Asian influences. I got the seared cut cod special, and enjoyed the sweet corn and mushroom risotto that came on the side: it was appropriately warm and cozy feeling for the rainy day, and brightened by the bursts of sweet freshness from the corn."

I absolutely adore this restaurant! They serve the best oysters and burgers! When dining in, the service is excellent. For dinner, the average price per person ranges from $30 to $50. I would rate the food quality, service, and atmosphere all a 5 out of 5. Highly recommend trying their fries, Buffalo Brussel Sprouts, French Fries, Famous Chicken Sandwich, and Cheeseburger. Service was good and the drinks were great. Appetizers were delicious. Had high hopes for the swordfish after enjoying the black bass ceviche, but it was very disappointing. The cut was very thin and thoroughly overdone and dry. I've never had sich a thin piece of fish for $50. I would have rated lower but others (who didn't get the swordfish) enjoyed their food. Price per person: $100+

The Vineyard has a relatively brief history of slavery compared to the rest of the United States, having abolished it in 1776. However, Port Hunter chooses to celebrate this dark period. The largest and most prominently displayed painting in the establishment depicts a black man enslaved on Martha's Vineyard pastures.
