"This fast-casual Thai restaurant is located in Downtown San Diego. **Thai Iced Tea:** We ordered two Thai Iced Teas—one with Boba and one without. The tea itself was enjoyable and not overly sweet, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the boba was disappointing; the pearls were quite hard. **Pad Thai:** This dish had a nice balance of sweetness and umami from the fish sauce. It was served with a generous slice of lemon, which added a nice acidity. **Drunken Noodles:** The flavors were predominantly sweet, enhanced by the fish and oyster sauces. The dish was packed with a variety of vegetables."

The restaurant wasn't open during the advertised hours. The service was terrible. I arrived here feeling very hungry and left feeling extremely disappointed.

I love 55 Thai! My go to place for lunch. I usually get the drunken noodles with shrimp and tom yum noodle soup. Great service and food is fresh excellent. So yummy!

I stumbled upon this hidden gem, and I'm so glad I did! The chicken ginger stir fry is definitely the standout dish on the menu!!! I enjoyed it twice during my visit to downtown San Diego!

The food was quite good, but the cleanliness left much to be desired. The floors and tables were very dirty, with leftover food on the tables and various amounts of trash and dirt on the floors. View menu

The top spot for Thai cuisine in San Diego! The curries are bursting with rich flavors, and the rice, meat, and vegetables are consistently fresh. If you're in the mood for a quick bite, be sure to try their delicious homemade egg rolls.

The soups were delicious (I tried both), and the edamame was tasty as well. However, I found that the pad thai lacked flavor apart from the spice. The prices were reasonable and everything tasted fresh, but I don't think I'll order from here again.

So happy to have found this spot! Curry done right and soo tasty. Tom Kha soup was delicious. Really great prices and clean restaurant. I've tried so many places and not impressed with what's around the area. I'm grateful to find a good Thai food place. Finally! View menu

Tired and wanting good food, our hopes were high. Simple order Pad Tai chicken beef. The noodles were greasy but the worst part was that the meat was very dry and off color. It seemed like the meat was quite old warmed up and added... The spring rolls were ok but $35 was not worth it. (I will add that the service was good)

As tourists after visiting Balboa Park, I searched for a nearby Thai place and this showed up on Maps. The surrounding area is not comfortable to be in after the sun sets. My suggestion is head to the Gaslamp Quarter. Food here is just OK. Pad Thai was $10, $2 for shrimp. Very limited menu. No Pad See Ew, or basil ground pork with fried egg rice items common at authentic Thai places. The Thai Tea was not good.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
