"We used to love Hooked on Breakfast and it was our favorite restaurant in OC. We used to recommend it to everyone. However, this past summer we had two very disappointing experiences. I requested a peanut butter chocolate chip pancake with just peanut butter chips and no chocolate chips. They had accommodated this request before, but this time we were told rudely that they do not do substitutions. I was puzzled by their inability to simply leave out the chocolate chips. Additionally, when I asked for an extra cup for my daughter because they were sharing breakfast (a 6 year old and a 3 year old), they charged me for two drinks even though it was just one drink split between two cups. They refused to remove the charge from the bill, even though we did not receive any refills. I was very disappointed by the poor service and it seems like the restaurant has lost its charm."

"Uncle Bill's is one of those must-try traditions that everyone should experience. From Ocean City, New Jersey, to Cape May, you'll find an Uncle Bill's location. Regardless of which one you choose, you can expect friendly service, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, expertly prepared sides, and fresh coffee. I’m not privy to their pancake recipe, but they clearly have it perfected. My blueberry stack was light, airy, and generously filled with fresh blueberries. You can tell they take great pride in the food they serve, which is why there’s often a wait for seating during the summer months. I visited early in November to avoid the crowds, but by the time I left, people were starting to line up. If you trust my recommendations, you should definitely give them a try the next time you want an excellent start to your day. A special thank you to the ladies at the reception for the food photos— I was so eager to dig into my meal that I forgot to take pictures myself! The kind woman I spoke to even went to the kitchen to snap some shots for me. Visit Uncle Bill's once, and you'll want to include them in your summer dining plans!"

"My husband ordered a cocnut chicken platter. It was a stickey clump of chicken pieces far and few that tasted like recycled kicken from the day before. I odered a tomato and avocado platter both stuffed. The tomato was so under ripe that it was hard to cut however, the tuna was tasty...The avacado was black and mushy but, the chicken salad was tasteless with too much mayo. My daughter also ordered a platter with an avacodo and salad. She had a similiar experience. The spring mix was very fresh and the dressing was ok. It was not what I was expexcting."

"Recalling the last four digits of the phone number to pick up our order was a bit challenging since we weren't sure who in our group had placed it.
