Food was spectacular. I had not had a couscous as good as that in over 20 years. We tried chicken, merguez, lamb and rabbit...all fantastic. And so we're the cumin chickpeas and desserts. Thank you.

"Fantastic Mexican restaurant. We went in and we sat right away, waitress immediately greeted us and helped us find out what was on the menu as it was our first time. Chips and salsa were really good, and we couldn't finish our first basket before our food was released, it was very fast. I had the Burrito Santa Fe and my wife had the street tacos. Both have far exceeded our expectations. The waitress was very attentive and asked how we often did it and our drinks were never empty for more than 15 seconds. By far the most positive experience I had in a restaurant in a long time. I definitely come back."

"We recently dined at Gola for the first time. The food was fine (the fresh pasta is great), but the value wasn’t there—a single medium-sized piece of veal with no sides or accompaniments was $36. To add a bit of pasta to the plate is an additional $8 — hardly a great value. The food could have done with some more flavor development or seasoning; the flavors were all fairly simple. If you’re looking for elevated Italian in Ithaca, I’d recommend Taverna Banfi over Gola. If you’re looking for more basic (and potentially overpriced) Italian food in a nice environment, Gola fits the bill."

"My girlfriend and I decided to take a romantic getaway on the finger lakes and our drive had us passing through Ithaca, so we decided to stop for dinner. A good friend recommended this place, and admittedly I was skeptical of Italian food this far from New York City, but I trust their recommendations and decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did. For our wine selection, our server allowed us to sample one of the wines by the glass, which tasted thin. When we described what we wanted, she came back with a reasonably priced bottle that exactly hit the deep red notes that we were looking for (see the picture for the winery vintage if interested . We started with the crostini sampler. In my opinion, the Caponata was the best, but they were all interesting to try and I was glad we got all three. As a nice touch, they cut each crostini in half so my girlfriend and I could both easily sample each one. For dinner, I had the grilled hanger steak, which came with rapini and shoestring fries. I admittedly gave an annoyingly long description of how I wanted it cooked (essentially rare+ and they nailed it. The steak was fantastic, but the accompaniments were so good that they almost stole the show. The shoestring fries’ rosemary seasoning was a fun twist and the rapini was both familiar (garlic and olive oil and excitingly different. For dessert, I had what was essentially espresso mousse with graham crackers and a glass of dessert wine. While probably the weakest course, it was still a delicious way to cap an amazing meal. The mousse required a bit more texture, but fortunately they provided graham crackers on the side (which I suggest crumbling into the mousse . I’d highly recommend checking this place out if you happen to be in the area."

"We came in for dinner on our last night in Ithaca and got seated right away. We were at a table next to a couple of regulars who’d clearly been coming for years and were on first name basis with the staff. Everyone who worked there was so incredibly kind that I can see why they kept coming back! On top of the fast and attentive service, the food was SO GOOD. The eggplant with garlic sauce was particularly great! We ordered 2 entrees and 2 sushi rolls and thought the final bill was very reasonable given the quality and how much food they brought us!"

"Went for the “famous” brunch on weekend. Being european the quality and assortment of food didn’t quite meet the expectations… lack of sortiment of good cheese and the selection of sweets and desserts seemed to overrule the selection of proper food. Service was excellent and very attentive. Price was very affordable but it felt like a typical ordinary hotel buffet breakfast style. It was a good brunch but not something I would recommend food wise. The dishes that were presented was seasoned well and tasted good, but I was disappointed with the range. They only offered bad scrambled eggs for egg options."
