The South Indian food here is excellent. The chef made a Jain chili paneer that was delicious. The dosa was also very tasty. I tried the South Indian thali, which was quite filling. For those with dietary restrictions, several items are available in Jain versions without onion and garlic.

This is one of our favorite Indian restaurants. We’ve enjoyed both dining in and ordering delivery here. The food is consistently well-prepared, fresh, and delicious. Our top picks include the vegetarian tiffin combo, onion and potato dosa, gobi Manchurian, tikka masala, and the various lassis. The only drawback is that it can be somewhat pricey. The food was decent, typical of what you would expect from an Indian restaurant. The ambiance was just a bit above that of an ordinary strip mall, and the service was good but not exceptional. However, the prices seemed more suited for a fine dining experience. It would have been ideal if the food, atmosphere, and service had lived up to the pricing. As for vegetarian options, there were plenty available.

I had the South Indian thali, very basic and staple meal. Curd was not included, although curd being another basic in any South Indian meal. But we were given 10 small side dishes, pickle, dal, rasam, sambar, 2 curries, 1 appetizer etc. nothing extraordinary about the food, but can go if you are missing home food. I tried some chicken dishes, again simple curry and korma type. It’s a little expensive compared to others amma’s kitchen but it’s located in a prime location and to have vegetarian options available is good.Vegetarian options: Yes

The staff at this restaurant were friendly and helpful, and the ambience was nice. However, the food was not up to par. The papdi chat was tasteless without yogurt, and the paneer butter masala was below average. The dish cost $20, which I felt was not justified.I think I made a mistake by ordering North Indian dishes in a South Indian restaurant. Next time, I will stick to South Indian food. The parking is street side, which can be a bit inconvenient.Overall, I was not impressed with this restaurant. There is nothing positive that I can say about this restaurant. We were served warm water on a very hot day) and had to ask for ice. It took a very long time for a server to come to our table to take our order They were not busy). Our appetizer came out cold and one entree was also cold, so we had to send back two items. My husband also had to get his own plate since they had to heat up our appetizer and entree. They never gave him a new plate . The dal curry was tasteless so was the rice. My first time eating a dosa and it was HUGE and delicious.Samosa chaat and papdi chat were really tasty, I loved the papdi chat especially with the crunchy chips and the freshness of the yogurt. And the chicken 65!! Wow!! SO crunchy and flavorful! 10/10 would go back just for the chicken 65.Mango lassi was sooo good, perfectly refreshing.And the dosa! WOW they are humongous! This review is for the University City location. The restaurant is clean with minimal decor. The food was excellent. The bad: We had made reservations for 12 PM noon, as we were a party of 7. The restaurant was empty upon arrival but despite waitstaff standing around, no one bothered to show us to a table. Once we were finally seated, no one came to take our order for about 20 minutes.
