"What a treasure Ba's is. The place is well decorated and has an open friendly atmosphere. We were greeted as we entered as were other customers . We did not feel hurried to select a dish. My wife had the Banh Mi and I chose the goi cuon shrimp salad roll and a side order of their house kimchi which was some of the best I have tasted with an excellent texture . The food was excellent, the service was unobtrusive. We really liked this place and will go back to try other dishes. The beef broth is absolutely delicious! I got Pho Bo with extra noodles and it was more than enough food. Would definitely recommend to those looking for niche food places in downtown Albany. The atmosphere is somehow cozy and modern at the same time, the staff was incredible, quick, and helpful, and the ginger chicken with kimchi was out of this world amazing. I highly, highly recommend stopping by! Especially for people who are gluten intolerant, as there are a few dishes on the menu that are naturally gluten free. The reviews did not lie. THE BEST GINGER CHICKEN EVER. A generous serving but all the better because Leftovers. The chilli oil is amazing, not spicy but brings flavor to the food. The avocado smoothie was delicious, I could taste the avocado with a hint of sweetness. The salad rolls were DELICIOUS, “reminds me of home” -my Vietnamese friend. Pho’wich it was a good combination between pho and bánh mì.

"We had requested the rounded corner booth in the main dining room and arrived 20 minutes early, planning to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. But instead, we were seated at a booth right next to our preferred one. A couple finished their meal shortly after we sat down, well before our 6:30 reservation. We ordered a Beefeater gin and tonic and a very dry Beefeater martini. Both drinks had an unusual, perfume-like scent that was quite off-putting. My wife sent her drink back, and I decided to switch to a Bombay martini, but the same strange floral fragrance persisted. I regularly enjoy Beefeater and Bombay dry martinis and have never experienced this odd aftertaste before. For my main course, the Duck and Porcini confit ragu had hardly any duck in it. There were only a few shreds of duck meat hidden in the tagliatelle, but no substantial pieces. My wife’s Pesto and Shrimp dish arrived swimming in a broth. While this might be a traditional way to serve it, there was no mention of broth on the menu. She had expected the pesto to be coated on the pasta and oily, rather than soupy. As much as we have loved Capriccio over the past three decades, this experience was disappointing. We didn't even stay for dessert. We'll certainly return, but I hope to avoid writing another negative review. I usually don’t share my thoughts unless absolutely necessary, but I felt compelled to do so this time."
