"I ride past Basil Rice every day and finally decided to stop in. I'm really glad I did; it's a hidden gem! I've been there three times this week and plan to return soon. The food is delightful and tastes incredibly fresh. I tried the chicken teriyaki with white rice and their version of orange chicken (as shown in the picture). My son wasn't a fan of the orange chicken since it wasn't the crispy variety he was used to. I called to express my concern, leaving a detailed message, but didn't receive a response. When I returned the next day with the plate, I learned that this is just how they prepare it. This experience made me take off a star, as I hoped for a different resolution. There wasn't an offer for an exchange or an apology regarding the orange chicken. I simply requested to discard that plate and paid for my chicken teriyaki to go (also pictured below). While waiting, I noticed a couple of dishes being served to other diners. I inquired and learned they were shrimp pineapple fried rice and garlic chicken with fried rice. Also, when you request double meat, you really get double meat! On my first visit, the entire container was filled with meat, while the rice was in a separate small takeout box. That definitely won me over! Plus, their website is user-friendly."

Best drunken noodles I had in the Boston area. 11/10 highly recommend. Will order again many times.

Chicken fried rice was mushy in texture but the flavor profile was not bad. Food was finished quickly, which is a positive, but probably would not order again.

The food is decent, and they have an open kitchen. However, dining in during the summer can be quite uncomfortable due to the heat. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5.

I found this hidden gem last month and have enjoyed their food several times since. My top picks are the pad Thai, drunken noodles, and cashew curry. The portion sizes are generous, and I really appreciate their lunch deal, which includes an appetizer and a drink.

One of the best discoveries in Brookline! My favorite dish is the drunken noodles, and they are always just right. I haven't had a single meal that I regretted, and I highly recommend it to anyone considering an order! Regarding dietary restrictions: we have a family member with several food aversions, and the staff is incredibly accommodating with any requests! View menu

We ordered the crispy chicken pad thai and the spicy tofu ramen, but sadly, the food only scored a 2 out of 5 as it lacked authentic flavor. To make matters worse, we noticed a bug near our meal, and there was some dirt at the bottom of the water cup. At that point, we had already paid, so there wasn't much the restaurant could do, but they really need to improve their cleanliness, especially during the summer months.

I've ordered from here a few times and it's always been great, but today I had a particularly satisfying experience. I was tired and ordered from their online pickup menu and thought I was ordering a regular green curry. I was a little surprised when I got home and realized I had mistakenly ordered a green curry burrito--something I didn't even realize was on the menu--but I figured since it was my bad and I'd already walked a half mile home I'd eat it anyway. Never something I'd think to order on my own, but wow was it delicious. It was fast, filling, cheap and, again, incredibly tasty. I will be ordering it again. My only regret was ordering a side of rice because I did not anticipate the...

"If you’re looking for some of the most flavorful, fresh, and delicious ramen, you have to check out Isshindo Ramen! If you’re a ramen fan like me, you know the KEY to a good ramen boils down to the broth and the noodles. Some places the broth is too salty or “greasy”. You don’t have that issue here.I’ve gone to many ramen spots in multiple cities and this place keeps me coming back. Every time I am in Boston I must order from here. Luckily for me, I’ll be spending part of my year in Boston- so I’ll get to enjoy it more often! The broth is super flavorful, savory, and creamy. It is made using a specially treated water and boiled pork bones. This is what gives you that amazing broth and flavor! It’s also loaded with vitamins and nutrients. It is a great option for those looking for an alternative to traditional soup! The noodles used in the ramen are a little different than other Ramen spots- and that is okay! The noodles are more straight than traditional ramen noodles you know. They cook them perfectly so they aren’t mush. The broth is packaged separate for delivery- as to keep everything fresh and hot. The noodles will continue to cook in the boiling hot broth. Some places don’t account for that and the noodles don’t hold up. This place knows the deal and factors that in. I like that.Lastly, the chashu pork is melt-in-your-mouth incredible. You get four large, soft, and delicious cuts of pork belly in your ramen. I like to break the big pieces up. They don’t skimp at all on the quality or quantity of the meat. The ramen is also generously served with Woodear mushrooms, scallion, bean sprouts, nori seaweed, and a soy egg.I have ordered delivery from here multiple times and it’s my favorite spot in town for ramen. It’s always delivered piping hot and packaged very well! The broth is packed separate, as to keep the noodles from overcooking in the hot broth. It also prevents a soggy ramen. The packaging is perfect. I’ve never had anything spill or leak. They also include chopsticks and a soup spoon. Order is always accurate. If you love ramen, you’ve got to give Isshindo a try! You won’t be disappointed.Pro Tip: I recommend a ramen for each adult. However, if you want a bit bigger portion you can add extra noodles for a small up charge- that’s what I usually do. But aside from that, portions are generous. I just like extra noodles.I look forward to eventually eating here in person. But for now- delivery has not disappointed me yet! My favorite spot for ramen!"
