The food was truly delicious and authentic, served in a cozy and vibrant setting. We appreciated that the dishes were well-seasoned and not as greasy as many other Ethiopian restaurants we've visited in the city. The honey wine was exceptional as well!

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time and I was not disappointed. It's a bit small, with just one tiny bathroom, but the food definitely made the wait worthwhile. The cozy, authentic atmosphere added to the enjoyable experience. Food: 4/5.

Am not sure for anyone outside the culture. But Benyam is the go to place for me and my friends, when we miss the taste of Home (Ethiopia). Very well made authentic Ethiopian food, fair price, good service, good atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough.Food: 5/5 View menu

If you've never tried ethiopian food, now's the time and here's the place. The atmosphere is welcoming and celebratory of their roots so you really get a sense of the culture. Friendly wait staff and delicious food. I tried the beef sambusas and veggie sampler for one and YUM. You can tell how fresh their ingredients are. 10/10 would recommend.

Benyam is a neighborhood treasure and one of—if not the best—Ethiopian restaurants in the city. The veggie sampler is my favorite and the service is always friendly. When most everything was closed during the height of the pandemic I would drive in and pick up take-out from here and it was the highlight of my week. So grateful for this lovely spot for delicious cuisine!

Read a lot of great reviews on the food before coming. While the employees were lovely and ambience was great, I was surprised with the food. Everything tasted somewhat bland and there was no variety in flavor, seasoning, or spice level between the various dishes (I got a combo). Portions were also very small. I may give this place one more try based on the number of positive food reviews, but definitely not what I’d expected. View menu

Delicious Ethiopian food! We really loved the tilapia (so crispy and flavorful), red lentils and collard greens in particular. The restaurant is family owned and one of the owners stopped by our table to chat, and you can tell how much they care about their patrons and community. And like other Ethiopian restaurants, there are numerous vegan/vegetarian options if needed. Will definitely be back another time!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free injera

Not enough can be said about the food's excellent quality, variety, or authenticity. However, what has kept us as weekly regulars are the people. This lovely and sincere family pours so much love into what they do. Their thoughtfulness was the extra ingredient that made my wife and I so pleased to celebrate our anniversary here. Truly wonderful people. If you're looking to enjoy authentic East African cuisine in a charming space, look no further than Benyam!

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
