"Truly the nicest people on the planet! I went in after a very cold Dupont ride and asked if they had some hot cider. The owner/manager/beer expert gave me a hot cup of Chai tea. Free! And then I asked if they had anything to eat. He led me to the end of the bar where I served myself a bowl of chili and rice. Same price as the chai! This was in December. We also love to sit outside by the creek during the summer for pizza and music. A true treasure in Cedar Mountain! And... Seriously environmentally responsible! No BS. Reusable forks and plates, no plastic bags... True citizens of the planet!!"

This was my first visit, and I came to enjoy a bluegrass jam session. It was so much fun! They offer a great selection of beers, as well as wine, ciders, sours, and non-alcoholic drinks. The baked pretzels were incredibly delicious, too! We'll definitely be back! View menu

It's definitely worth stopping by and spending some time here. They have an excellent selection, and the staff are wonderful. They make their soups from scratch and are committed to a sustainable future. This place really stands out as a hidden gem among so many uninspiring establishments.

I just popped in to check out the place with a friend. We didn't eat or drink anything, but I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, which is perfect for locals to come together and enjoy performances from different musicians and groups. The venue isn't very large, but it has a charming feel to it.

They offer an incredible variety of beer, mead, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, including non-alcoholic gose and IPAs, as well as unique soda flavors like butter pecan cream soda. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is community-oriented. They're also committed to being environmentally friendly. I definitely recommend this place! View menu

Very interesting little spot. I love the fact that they are zero waste. Quaint little inside bar with a selection of beers on tap as well as on shelves and cooler to purchase. Also makes pretzels to soak it up. Outside is some picnic table type seating next to a creek along with some other outside single seating chairs. There is also a fire pit for cooler times. I would definitely stop here again when out that way!

What a wonderful place! You won’t be disappointed if you stop into the Cedar Mountain Canteen. I pop in whenever I’m in the area for a mountain bike ride or a hike. Dog friendly, great beer, amazing stone fire pizza, live music on occasion, knowledgeable and inviting owners. Today they had delicious vegan chili available.. yum! Thank you for sharing your homemade grub. They also run a waste free business. Doesn’t get much better! Thanks y’all, we’ll continue to come back!!

"I 'm visiting the area and staying in the countryside, so food options nearby are limited. Upon entering, I was greeted by the light skin black girl, gave me a menu and said I could sit in two different places. The place wasn 't crowded (only a couple), so I wasn 't sure why she was trying to be so specific. Ten minutes later she returned to take my order. I thought it strange that she greeted and took orders, but nevertheless, I ordered bacon (extra crispy) grits, sausage, scrambled eggs, asked them to be hard, but not too hard. She asked 'medium hard ' and I said that would be fine. When she brought my order, I didn 't have scrambled eggs, I had eggs over easy. I told her that I ordered scrambled eggs and with an attitude, she said she thought I said eggs over easy. I have never ordered eggs over easy in my life.I had already started eating the other items, and she was going to take back the entire order. I said, 'no I just need the eggs scrambled. ' She left with an attitude, mumbling it 's been a long day . It was only 8:30 a.m. When she brought the scrambled eggs, she just rudely sat them down on the table and didn 't even bother to apologize--no manners what so ever. If she spent less time on her cell phone, she could concentrate on getting orders correct. The bacon was excellent, the grits were runny, the sausage and scrambled were ok."
