I had to stop at Vitry Le François for a train change. I went to that brewery. I was very welcome, they were not at noon yet that they still offered me a dish of the day. If one day I have to go back to Vitry Le François, I know where to go. Thanks again for everything!

Completely random stop, but we found a hearty one dish lunch. 10 euros for a choice between two plats du jour. I had the squid, she had the lamb. Both were perfectly good. For a pub there were a bunch of guys standing at the bar next to our table this was pretty good. Toilets were okay too.

We stopped into this pub because it didn't take a pause during the mid afternoon. Although our waitress wasn't an English speaker, she was very charming and friendly and we managed to order a nice lunch. I had a fish burger, which was fried with a zesty compote and a sauce that was reminiscent of tartar sauce. It came with excellent fries and I washed it down with champagne. My husband had an entrecote steak with fries. It came with a hearty gravy. He had a French beer on tap. For dessert, we both had poached pears with chocolate sauce. I had actually wanted the raspberry tiramisu, but I don't think our waitress understood me. That was okay. The pears were good, too. View menu
