"Gizzards and livers heaven! I grew up loving Grandy’s, but Chicken Express’s light, crispy breading combined with a creamy, pâté-like texture is truly something special. Their generous sides paired with biscuit gravy or a roll are fantastic. The sweet tea actually has a real tea aroma, which is a rare find. Their happy hour until 4 PM is a real blessing, especially with inflation these days. The $4.99 deal for a leg, two thighs, and a biscuit is a huge help for many families. During the COVID season, we experienced friendly service at the drive-thru and even more attentive and welcoming staff when dining in. Kudos to the management for fostering such a great environment. Five stars for what really matters! We often dine in at this location after middle school lets out. The drive-thru can be busy for some, but it’s usually quick if there are only a few cars ahead. Having takeout chicken from Chicken Express always saves me from scrambling to prepare a family meal, and they’ve never let me down. I’m willing to overlook the occasional missed order because a quick phone call usually results in them making it right next time. Please be reasonable, folks. The food quality is fresh and good. Negative reviews should have a time limit. If you had a bad experience here, give the manager feedback and give them another shot—you’ll likely enjoy it!"

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The drive-thru is consistently slow, and we've received sweet tea from gallon containers that had no expiration date and an unpleasant odor. While the service is decent, there is definitely room for improvement.

Chicken Express serves delicious, flavorful chicken! Their rolls are among the best I've had. I also appreciate their honesty—if they forget something from your order, they note it down, and as long as you keep your receipt, they'll make it right. Whenever we're in town, this place is a must-visit!

My husband and I had our first dining experience at Chicken Express, and it was amazing! Jared offered exceptional service and made us feel welcomed on our first visit. The food was delightful; the chicken was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor! We will definitely be coming back and recommending it to our friends!

I entered the restaurant and was greeted by a warm and friendly staff member who thoughtfully suggested a few extra dishes from the menu. I was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the entire team was; everyone appeared to genuinely enjoy collaborating with one another. The food was prepared incredibly fresh, and despite a 15-minute drive, it arrived piping hot. Excellent work all around! I highly recommend this place for its food quality, team spirit, and overall value. View menu

Overall, I was disappointed with my experience. I ordered a 4-piece dinner with fries, okra, and a biscuit, plus a drink. The food quality was decent—everything was fresh, especially the tenders, which were very moist. However, I was let down because the biscuit wasn’t included, and I only received 3 tenders instead of 4. Additionally, the okra was slightly too salty, though only a little. I might visit again, but I hope they improve portion control, especially when charging $13 for a meal.

I had an amazing experience at this location on January 14, 2022. The staff was incredibly patient while I placed my order through the speaker, and they offered great suggestions when I was unsure about my choices. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Chicken Express has cookies on their menu! The whole interaction truly brightened my day. A special shoutout to the gentleman who took my order and to my cashier, Dana. If tipping had been allowed, I would have done so without hesitation! I will definitely be coming back!

I’m giving this restaurant 2 stars, and the sole reason for that is the wonderful cashier, Jada. She was incredibly sweet, helpful, and always had a smile on her face. However, the food was quite disappointing. The chicken tenders were dry, and we arrived at 12:45 PM and sat in the dining area. The coleslaw tasted like plain mayo mixed with water, and the mac and cheese had an odd, plastic-like flavor—my 10-year-old wouldn't even touch hers. The sweet tea also tasted muddy. I won't be returning. I can’t believe I spent $37 on food that went barely touched. View menu

Wow! This is my second time visiting this Chicken Express, and on both occasions, I've ordered the 8-piece boneless hot wings. Each time, the wings were served hot and incredibly fresh. The biscuit was wonderfully soft, fresh, and buttery, while the homemade mashed potatoes complemented their country gravy perfectly. Everything was not only fresh but also served in generous portions. They even make sure to give you extra wings in case some are smaller—I ended up with around 12-14 wings on both visits! Additionally, the service was fantastic, and the restaurant was very clean. I would rate it a perfect 10 out of 10! Thank you! The price was excellent too; this meal was just under 10 dollars!

"We ate here during the Paseo Arts Festival. We initially tried to make a reservation using Open Table, but someone from the restaurant called me a few days later to inform me that Picasso Cafe was not taking reservations during the Arts Festival. We arrived at 12:15 pm and put in our names. Our party was called just before 1:00 pm. Fortunately, we had the Arts Festival to keep us busy while we waited. I ordered the chicken and avocado sandwich. It sounded good in the menu description -- seared chicken breast, avocado slices, swiss cheese, bacon, and bourbon honey mustard. However, I ordered it without the cheese because I have been to too many places where they do not know how to melt cheese on grilled sandwiches and I don't want to be a picky customer on my second visit to a restaurant. Anyway, it was difficult to hold the sandwich together. I ended up taking the avocado slices off of it so that there was enough friction for me to hold it together and eat it. The seared chicken breast was the best part, closely followed by complimentary lettuce and tomato (crisp and cold) and the honey mustard (good mix of sweet and tangy). I ordered the napa cabbage slaw for my side dish. It was served with a light dressing so that the cabbage stood out. This is not a slaw for people who prefer not to taste the cabbage. I would like to come back and try some more things. However, if I have the chicken sandwich again, I am going to leave out both the swiss cheese and the avocado. I would also like to see if they have a wheat bun because that would pair better with this mix of flavors and textures."
