"When I called the restaurant to discuss my concerns about spending so much on this meal, the girl on the phone seemed unsure of how to help me. She mentioned that “Paula,” the restaurant manager, was not available and supposedly works from home, which probably makes addressing customer complaints quite challenging. In conclusion, I will not be ordering from here again and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I'm embarrassed that this “Mexican” restaurant represents my culture. Please do better, Chilacates. If you're looking for great Mexican food, I'd suggest going to La Taqueria in Dedham or Roslindale instead."

The carnitas burritos are excellent and quite filling. I highly recommend them!

Walked in to order. No one at the counter for 3 minutes so I left. Service used to be fast and friendly. It's gone way down hill.

Very eclectic boho Mexican decor. The food is amazing! It's definitely a great place to hang out and eat and chat and even play games. View menu

Tacos are filled with meat and taste so good, every thing is well seasoned. The portions are very good as well for the price. My favorite taco spot in Massachusetts

My tres leches cake was sour, which suggests that it was either stale or made with poor-quality milk. Additionally, this restaurant is quite pricey and offers small portion sizes. I recommend visiting the JP locations instead.

A decent Taco joint to satisfy your taste buds. Several steps up from Taco Bell, but nothing to write home about if you love real Mexican food. The steak tacos are my favorite. If you get chips and guac, the chips are plentiful, but the guac is a very small portion even if you get the large. Quick service. Nice dining inside but the outdoor courtyard is a great place to eat when the weather is warm. View menu

Lots of potential, very pleasant interior, clean and well maintained space, fast polite service, the food was fresh... but everything our group ordered tasted bland (except for the guacamole), as if no seasoning was used at all. Our group was looking for a quick bite after a show, it was composed of people from different backgrounds and with different food preferences, and we all really wanted to like this place, but found that the food didn't have much flavor and didn't

When I called to express my concerns about spending so much on this meal, the poor girl on the line was unsure of what to do because Paula, the restaurant manager, wasn't in and supposedly only works from home. This makes it difficult to resolve issues for unhappy customers. Overall, I will not be ordering from here again, and I would appreciate a refund. I'm embarrassed that this restaurant represents my culture. I highly recommend going to La Taqueria in Dedham or Roslindale for much better food at a fairer price. Do better, Chilacates.

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
