"I hate leaving negative reviews however I cannot recommend Citizens of Gramercy to anyone. Let's start with the positives. It's a cute restaurant bright and airy. My friend and I were seated promptly when we arrived on a weekday afternoon. Our waiter was polite and attentive. Unfortunately my positive experience ended there. I ordered the Big breakkie while my friend ordered the Salmon Eggs breakfast. Both were basically inedible. Everything was sour. Like somehow it was all drenched in lemon juice. Even the eggs tasted like it was poached in lemon juice. Even the mushrooms were too sour. One of my eggs was boiled too long and had a hard yolk. Same for my friends egg. My bacon was very overdone, essentially dark crumbly bacon chips. It was quite disappointing. The avocado spread on my bread was already browning like it had been out for a while. I was unsatisfied with my meal. I will say the belgium waffle wasn't bad. I enjoyed the berries and marscapone pairing. Overall sadly I won't return. I've been to other Citizen locations and had good experience however I will not be returning to this location."

Mediocre sandwich. Ordered takeout. Should have opted for a bodega sandwich instead. Not worth it for the price .

My go-to place for a cortado and getting work done at a café. Match's latte is quite delightful. The staff is fantastic, and the atmosphere is excellent. Food: 5/5.

The food was decent, especially the cheddar biscuit breakfast sandwich, while the cappuccino was quite good. It's a charming little bakery. Overall, I’d rate the food 4 out of 5.

Love the food and good portions. Come here and enjoy a coffee to go our dine in for a great experience and atmosphere. Next time I'm in NYC I'll be sure to come back. Naomi was a great server as well! Thank you Gramercy! View menu

I literally searched for nearby avocado toast, and this place was only a short walk from where we were! It looked busy, but they seated us right away. I highly recommend the avocado toast! I kept mine simple, and it was still amazing.

I passed by and couldn't resist stopping in. The food was amazing! I loved the atmosphere and the coffee was excellent. This will definitely be my new favorite place whenever I'm in the area. I tried the overnight oats, and they were delicious. Food: 5/5.

The atmosphere was vibrant and enjoyable. The service was quick and welcoming. While the presentation of the food was appealing and the taste was good, we found the portion sizes to be quite small. For example, my son finished the French toast, which cost $16, in just three bites. The avocado toast was visually appealing, and I appreciated the sauce smeared on the plate alongside the pistachio. Overall, I would rate the food a 4 out of 5. View menu

This is a fantastic place for brunch! I really loved the decor and ambiance of the cafe. The menu is vegetarian-friendly, which is a definite bonus, and it offers a wide variety of both savory and sweet brunch options. We tried the avocado toast, which was quite tasty, but the highlight was definitely the golden French toast. It felt like a delightful surprise with every bite. It's a perfect spot to visit with friends or even alone! I had a great experience and will definitely be returning.

One of my favorite brunch spots. I'm usually a creature of habit and get the belgian waffle or the smashing avocado but I decided to try out the avo benny and I think I might have a new favorite go to order here. The unique thing is how all the different textures and flavors combine together. I loved the beet hummus that I thought i wouldnt necessarily like, the sunflower seeds added such a nice crunch and the hollandaise was perfection. I'm craving it just writing about it. The service was amazing as usual and I even met one of the servers that's usually at the soho location. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to brunch here, you won't be disappointed.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
