"The music was excessively loud, with only rock bands playing, making it hard to enjoy the experience. After New Year’s, they had a salsa group, which was a better fit, but it was too little too late. We had dinner at a restaurant but were also invited to their outdoor buffet on the way to the pool, which was unappetizing. I noticed a lot of people slipping because there was food on the floor, and when I brought it up, nobody seemed to care. In 2018, I attended the Gala, and it was superbly organized, featuring a traditional Puerto Rican Christmas feast with wonderful live music that was family-friendly and festive—not the rock concert we experienced this time. Clearly, the event planners fell short this year. It’s unfortunate they didn’t attract the anticipated number of guests for the pool event and they should have made an effort to accommodate those who joined for that experience. Promoting a pool event is a simple task, especially for tourists like us who are looking for a casual experience rather than a formal gala."
