"Manger is a bit of a hustler in the back when it comes to speciality cakes- watch the price they offer if you come here. We were ready to go, and we feel that the manager tried to change the price last minute to make more money, so we walked out. Here’s the story:Walked in today to purchase a fondant cake for a party. Showed a picture of the cake (clearly fondant). We had called ahead and was told to come in when the manager was there.Walked in today, and a very nice woman helped us out. Told us it was about 290 for a 1 tier, 12 inch speciality fondant cake- which of course makes sense. We also wanted to purchase fondant cupcakes, so this was all adding up to around 400 plus, which was fine.Just as we were ready to make the payment, the manager came from the back and a second woman spoke with him. She then came over to us and told us the cake price was for butter cream and they told us the wrong thing. Now- I wonder about this butter cream, it must be a special butter cream because I have never seen a cake cost 300 for butter cream (unless maybe a wedding cake) but not a one tier 12 inch cake. We showed the picture and again, was told that the picture was buttercream (which it wasn’t and we went to a second place after having no issues)They falsely claimed that the picture wasn’t fondant but buttercream with fondant decorations on it. Not sure why they tried to do this. Maybe the manager or whoever that was thought they could squeeze a couple more dollars out of us but instead lost the entire sale.We walked out. Especially knowing cake prices and thinking that I spent less than 300 for my wife’s massive fondant birthday cake at a different place. We went to Francesco’s bakery (where I had gotten cakes in the past) in Hicksville. Had no issues. They charged less and gave us a much nicer cake.Up to you but we won’t be going back to Dortoni bakery. If you do go, watch the prices and if you feel the hustle coming, walk out. There’s better bakeries."

I ordered the Apple crumble pie and it was undercooked. As a first-time customer, I am very disappointed and most likely will not return.

Bought a napoleon cake. Overall, this bakery is very good. I would like more custard and no whip cream to make this more authentic. But everyone enjoyed it and the quality is very good on prior visits.

The cupcakes were delicious! Unfortunately, I ordered plain Italian bread but received the seeded ones instead. I cannot eat seeded bread due to a medical condition. Additionally, the bread was cold, as if it had been refrigerated. View menu

Although their baked goods are undeniably delicious, the prices are incredibly high for what you receive. I purchased two tres Leche tarts that were smaller than a mini muffin, and I was charged $12 for them. That's around 30% more than similar bakeries. Additionally, a small cake that serves 4-6 people costs between $30 and $40. That's a lot of money for a little flour!

I live on the opposite side of the country and wanted to order some Italian pastries for a friend's birthday. I stumbled upon this bakery in Long Island, which was highly recommended. I called in advance to request specific items to be included in the assorted cookie delivery I was ordering, and the staff was very accommodating and helpful over the phone. The order was beautifully wrapped when it arrived.

Dortoni is truly the best place for custom cakes! They accommodate your budget and create stunning designs. I recently ordered a cake for my baby shower, and it turned out beautifully while tasting incredible! The chocolate flavor was rich and decadent, and the vanilla and fruit options were also delicious and moist. I highly recommend them. Last year, I had a Gucci-themed cake made, and it was a tremendous success! Kawal, the manager, is fantastic to work with—so humble and kind. I can't wait to order from them again! View menu

I ordered a pie via DoorDash. I ordered a large pie because I have a group of people coming. A girl from the store named Gabby calls me and tells me that they dont have a large pie and only a small pie. I explained that I have a whole bunch of people coming and she goes Ill call you back and hung up on me. I receive a small pie and they refunded me the difference without a call back. The small pie is the equivalent of something I can eat myself. I called the store and spoke to this girl Gabby again and she said to me well Im sorry sir theres nothing I can do and if you have a problem you can take it up with DoorDash. A store Ive been shopping in for 15 years going back to levittown is going...

What truly sets Dortoni's apart is their expertise in crafting wedding cakes that align perfectly with your vision. Kawal played a crucial role in bringing my dream wedding cake to life. Her meticulous attention to detail and expertise were evident right from the start. She took the time to meet with both my spouse and me, attentively listening to our ideas and preferences. Kawal's insights were invaluable, helping us refine our vision to ensure every aspect of the cake was just as we envisioned. The customer service at Dortoni's is exceptional. Throughout the entire process—from the initial consultations to the delivery of the cake on our wedding day—the Dortoni's team went above and beyon...

"UPDATE June 30, 2023 My family took another shot at Sangria 71 in Commack. Unfortunately, it was basically the same experience. Really great service. However, I was hoping that the food was just as good. However, it was once again average. The staff was outstanding. Our server Teresa was fantastic and went above and beyond to make our experience the best it could be. In addition, our busgirl Claudia also very pleasant. The hostesses were very accomadaing, and the valets were terrific. Alexi was also awesome! As for the food, my boil was good, but the shrimp was overcooked....very tough. However, the lobster was very tasty. The calamari was also good. The feedback on the steaks was mixed. The main criticism was not taste, it came down to the toughness of the meat. The desserts were good, but they did have ab artificial taste time them. It is a very nice restaurant aestetically, and it has a great vibe and energy. I really enjoyed the overall experience and want to like it more....they just need to kick up the food a notch....I hope that they do! ________________________________ A real solid 3 Stars. If I could give it 3.5 Stars I would; but there isn't that option for this review. This is a very nice space with a wonderful staff. Our waiter Aaron was terrific and our busgirl Teresa was fantastic! I wanted to rate this higher, but the food was a mixed bag. The oysters looked beautiful, but actually lacked flavor. I don't know how that's possible, but they were extremely bland. Not even a trace of the ocean...very odd. The salad had no flavor. It was very cold and basic. It reminded me of those salads in the NYC theater district resteraunts that are pre made and kept in the refrigerator. The octopus was good. Nice garlic flavoring. A little chewy, but good. My main course was tasty as well. I enjoy the seafood and flavors in the Mariscos. The Sangria was average; but I did enjoy the spicy Margherita very much. Our family enjoyed the desserts. Overall, it's a good place. It just needs to tweak a few things, and it can reach the next level."
