Dunn's River Jamaican

The curry chicken was amazing, and I got more food than I actually ordered! The staff were wonderful, even welcoming me just 15 minutes before closing time. This was my first visit to the restaurant, but I will certainly be back!

Food is pretty good and for the price, definitely worth it. I ordered a coconut drop and they gave me gizzada, very disappointed there but the food overall was good this time around. I ordered delivery and it was delivered with acceptable timing

Customer service was excellent. Even though it was packed, the staff moved expeditiously. My reasoning for taking away 2 stars is the chicken. It was over fried to the point that it was dry and not edible. The pieces that were edible, had absolutely NO SEASONING. View menu

I hadn't been to Dunn's in years because of past encounters with unkind staff, but I decided to give it another chance today. I was happily surprised by the polite and respectful women working there. The fries were fantastic—by far the best I've had in Hartford. The service was also quick since I ordered through the kiosk. Well done, Dunn's; I'm happy to support this place again!

While visiting Hartford, we were recommended to another restaurant but the GPS too us to Dunn's River Jamaican Restaurant and we absolutely love our meal. With our family size, the owner personally assisted us without revealing he was the owner. The kids, my mom, sister and I were all pleasantly surprised that each of our meals was next to perfection. I personally enjoyed their fried chicken and oxtail. The sides of plantains wasn't too thick and well fried.

This place is very good west Indian food option for the Hartford/Capital area. They have always been consistent with their flavors and quality of food, no matter which dish I've chose! I would def refer anyone to try this, if you're looking to try this genre of food.. a very upbeat and welcoming environment, with good timely service!! I've been going here for years and never have gotten a bad plate of food, never has the service been distasteful, nor has the option I chose to order not been ready and above many of the rest!! I had an amazing experience at Dunn's River Jamaican! On my way to the beach near Albany, NY, I stopped here and was thrilled with the quality of the food, the service, and the prices—they were all fantastic. I can't wait to return and get more of the curry chicken roti and dumplings on my way back! I would have shared a picture, but it was just too delicious to wait! The service was friendly and welcoming, and I ended up ordering more food on my return visit—see the photos below. The prices on the menu are truly incredible. Thank you, Dunn's River Jamaican! This is truly a 3.5. I was visiting the area and wanted food from back home. I googled the best in the area and this location out did everyone else. The Pepper Steak was perfection however, the cabbage was definitely not how I grow up eating it nor how I cook it. The Oxtail was not impressive I think that had more to do with how busy they are and they seem to cook through out the day so quick cooking. Just my opinion on that and lack of flavor.... The rice again perfectly cooked. The jerk chicken was ok, just marinade them longer so the seasoning can better incorporate.... Let me first say that my husband went to other Jamaican restaurants throughout the CT and that was by far the best ever. When we arrived, I was so relieved that we ordered from there first because this restaurant had a line out of the door that did not make an order on the website. This restaurant was clean, great staff and when we arrived, the food was ready and hot. What a great way to start our first experience with Dunn's. We arrived at home and this food was fabulous and I am not exaggerated. The dessert should die.
