"After living in Houston for 40 years this restaurants has achieved my worst of all time for all cities I have visited. We had a 6pm reservation and arrived 8 minutes early. The Owner would not let us wait inside and made out leave the restaurant. It was 102 degrees out. My wife told the Owner it was ridiculous we couldn't just sit at a table and wait 8 minutes. He got rude and obnoxious with her. First restaurant we left after 2 minutes. If this post keeps one person from going to this terrible establishment, then the post has been successful. I guess since its a French restaurant they think they have the right to be rude. We walked down to Navy Blue, had no reservations and received great food and service. Avoid Rabelais at all cost unless you enjoy being in France and treated rudely. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"Restaurant is very lovely and service is amazing. My review is more about the food consistency. My cinnamon roll was cold and could barely taste cinnamon in it. And out of 3 orders of the CFC, 2 were over cooked with one not having most of itsbreading, the eggs were overcooked then covered in large cracked black pepper making it obtrusively spicy. The biscuit and gravywere on point! The dish has great potential just needs editing. We also ordered the Tuna salad which was amazing the onionsreally added a nice note to the sharp spice of the greens. Also the loaded potatoes were delicious as well. With that said, Iwill definitely join friends here again for another sitting; the cocktails were great!"

"I recently flew from Toronto to Houston and decided to dine at this restaurant with family living in the area. I made a reservation for six people, and coincidentally, my uncle had also made a separate reservation for four at the same time. We met by chance in the parking garage and were excited to all be at the same restaurant.When we arrived, the hostess, a Hispanic lady, greeted us, and I explained that we had two separate reservations, but were part of the same family. Her demeanor instantly changed, and she rudely asked, 'What do you mean? ' I calmly repeated that we had made two independent reservations. She responded, 'That’s not how it works, ' as if implying we had intentionally split a larger group into two reservations to bypass some rule, which was not the case at all. To make things worse, she seated us far apart, even though there were many empty tables around. I politely asked if we could sit closer, not together—just near each other—and she flat-out refused, with an attitude that seemed almost discriminatory. It was as if she was trying to prove a point by keeping us separated, despite there being no real reason to do so. This behavior made us feel unwelcome from the start, and it was clear she didn’t want to accommodate us. We asked to speak with the manager, who eventually agreed to seat us closer, but the damage had already been done. Throughout the evening, the energy was negative, and aside from our waiter, who was fantastic, the rest of the staff treated us coldly, making it clear we weren’t wanted there. To top it off, when I went to pay, I was charged a 20% gratuity for a large group, even though we never sat together and these were two separate reservations. It felt incredibly unfair and added to the sense that we were being treated poorly.It’s unfortunate, because while the food was excellent, the hostile attitude from the hostess and the lack of basic hospitality made for a very negative experience. She should not be the face of restaurant"

"Atmosphere: Nice abundance! I loved the atmosphere! It definitely has that fine dining feel. There were a lot of prom dates. It’s a great for a date night. Waiter: We had outstanding service! Our waiter recommended several different items. He was great at explaining the menu. He was fun but professional. Food: I have definitely had better. It was quite disappointing to be honest! They have small portions, expensive prices, and not even that flavorful. We opted for the tuna with fried noodles. Now that was delicious but it was supposed to feed at least 4 ppl but it barely fed 2. We also got the lobster in butter sauce. It was a beautiful dish and I couldn’t wait to dive in. It was bright and beautiful and looked very colorful. However the taste was very disappointing. I thought that it would be bursting with flavor and it wasn’t. They give you this huge split lobster however part of it was very bitter! Parking: Ridiculous Overall: I won’t be back."
