"I go there every time I visit Prospect Park with my kids (and we go there a lot). We enjoy their lovely backyard and delicious coffee. However, I couldn't really experience their food much as there are never any vegetarian options available in the PM. Pastry is delicious. Zucchini bread is my fav. Another bummer is their hours. They close as early as 4 pm. Otherwise, this place is wonderful!"

The service at this restaurant is top-notch and I appreciate the tranquil atmosphere of the cafe. The drinks are absolutely amazing as well.

The restaurant was really nice, but the lattes were the worst I've ever had. They had to throw them out because they tasted like tepid flavored water.

Very disappointed with the service I received. The Sunday barista was slow and passive aggressive. No one was ahead of me in line and I was still there for almost 10 minutes.

This restaurant is a charming spot for a meal! The outdoor seating area gives me a nostalgic feeling of being in Europe during my childhood. The coffee is superb and they make my favorite almond croissant exactly how I like it. I highly recommend this place for a delightful dining experience. View menu

I loved ELK cafe.First of all, it was the little things, like going out of his way to hold the door for my wife and newborn.Second, they have a great selection of food and coffee they make delicious lattes. The vibe was perfect nice and quiet. Don't go there if you're having a spirited debate.I enjoyed their little backyard area. It made for a fulfilling trip.

Elk restaurant stands out for its prime location, spacious layout, and friendly staff. However, the espresso drinks leave much to be desired as they are often burnt or made incorrectly. Additionally, the food is underwhelming and overpriced. If you are seeking a spot to work with wifi near the park, but are not particular about the food and drinks, Elk could be a suitable choice.

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
