"Never again. I am so embarrassed that such a ?historical? restaurant such as Ernest?s would employ some of the most lackadaisical and uninterested people I have ever had to encounter. Sadly, I have felt more welcome at McDonalds than this place. Hostesses are melancholy and for a lack of a better term, lazy and unhappy. We walked in, walked up to the hostess area and weren?t greeted at all. They looked at us, we said we were going to just sit at the bar and walked rightin. No words exchanged except for one of them saying ?okay?. The only saving grace was the bar staff they were engaging and acted as if they were happy to have our business. We decided to just have crab claws and a salad?.both itemsthat should have been paired with bread. I asked four times for bread and was told it was coming?.it never came. We went outside (out back) where two employees were pulling loaves of bread out of the trunk of a car. I knew they had breadafter seeing that but I never got any. After we finished, we got up to leave walked by the two hostesses, they did not say goodnight, thank you, have a good evening, NOTHING. It was about to storm so my date went to get his truck. While waiting, I turned around to look inside and one of the hostesses was on her cell phone. Let me also add that my silverware was FILTHY. We spent (with tip) around $70 for crab claws, a dinner salad and three drinks. I cannot for thelife of me understand how a restaurant with the reputation that Ernest?s has, would allow such awful people to work for them. I could go on and on about how ?I work in customer service? and how we should be welcoming but it?s not evenabout that at this point it?s about simple human kindness?.Not to mention, the place was so filthy looking (ceiling tiles, etc) that the name John Taffer (sp) ran through my head. I will never return to Ernest?s again. So verydisappointed. 2Johns or Superior will now get my business and hard earned money."

Food was expertly prepared just as ordered. Waitress was professional, attentive and helpful with menu. Valet was prompt and courteous. Will keep returning.

Found this place via OpenTable and was very impressed! Food was awesome, service had some much needed old school charm... you MUST try the Cafe San Pedro and one of the flaming desserts!

The service was amazing, all the waiters and waitresses were so polite. The food was so expensive and didn’t taste that great. I wouldn’t go again to pay $32 for chicken parm and it taste like that. View menu

Still the same neat nostalgia from years past. Food still superb, with overall great service, value and presentation. Our server could have been a little more attentive to our table, but was otherwise friendly and did a good job.

As soon as we walked into the doors at Ernest?s we felt very welcomed. The service here is accommodating and quick. The atmosphere felt quaint and romantic which was nice for an impromptu date night. The food was served hot and fresh, and was flavorful.

A great place, Ernest has a great reputation in the area and it?s for a reason. Our waiter was an absolute doll, and he insisted several times there was no rush. Even accommodated the boyfriend in setting up flowers on the table for me for the date. It is on the pricier side for food around Shreveport and Bossier but absolutely worth it for the atmosphere and quality of it. It?s definitely a slower, relaxed service feel which I love (they?re not shoving you out the door). Alot of people are regulars so you may have to ask for a menu, but that was no issue either. It is also always recommended if you don?t see something you?d love to have to ask anyways because Ernest does go above and beyond...

After ALL the hype and over the moon excited to have a romantic dinner.....this would NOT be the case. Service was slow, 2 other tables were served, salads, drinks and entrees before we were served. Did I mention we were there before them? Plus we were NOT given a menu to order, we had to ask for a menu. Food was not up to par with all the hype we had experienced wanting and talking about going. The steak I was served was NOT what my husband ordered for me. It was smotheredin some sort of heavy sauce, drowning it! Staff appeared to not know very much what she was doing or what her position required. The saving grace for this experience was the piano player and singer. Magnificent job young m...

"To sum it all up, WOW. Just WOW!?? We were told to come try the food by several people on the 318 Food Page/Group here on Facebook. The food did NOT disappoint ? we got the loaded Cajun fries, the gumbo, the pho, the fried rice, the stir fry noodles, and finished off with a king cake funnel cake.? The fusion and technique used to create these lovely dishes is outstanding. You can taste the love in each dish and you can tell they truly put an effort into everything here. Our server (apologies because I don’t recall her name) was so sweet, very attentive and efficient! Even when things got a little busy, she continued to offer amazing customer service. (As a former server and manager, servers have a huge impact on the meal/dining experience) her service enhanced the experience for us and just made the visit overall VERY pleasant. The Viet Iced Coffee she made was literally to die for and I wish I could’ve ordered a whole bucket full of it??? The location is kinda “out their” but trust me, it’s worth the drive, the walk, the bike ride, etc! Support local during the pandemic (well always, but especially during these times) Don’t let the negative reviews steer you away, I assure you it’s beyond worth it, and as friendly as the staff is, give them an opportunity to fix anything if your dining experience differs from mine! 5 Stars!??? we are PCSing overseas in less than 2 weeks, but trust me when I say we’ll be back before we go!?"

"Our reservation was for 7 pm? we arrived 10 minutes before. We were told there is a wait?asked about outdoor seating as it was available on a first come first serve. We were told there were several tables that had been closed out and they were just sitting. We decided to wait for our table.. we were finally seated at 7:17 pm. We get drinks and bread and for 15 minutes we wait for our server to come get our appetizer order and we go ahead and give our entrée order? appetizercame out quickly, but the entrees took about 45 minutes so we spent 30 minutes just sitting and waiting- server had not come by to check on us. We finally get our entrees and they were a bit salty. My friends entree was too salty to eat -we asked for another entree to replace the one that was too salty to eat and the server tried to explain its seasoned but we know the difference between salty and seasoned. 30 minutes of waiting for the replacement dish- still no food so weasked to cancel the order and pay for our current ticket. The server said well it?s already been ordered- so we still asked to cancel the dish and bring our ticket. Finally the ticket came we closed out and left? this was our first timedining here and will be our last. It was noisy but we were able to have decent level conversations. I would have liked for our dining experience to be better for the prices and atmosphere. We never saw a manager to address our issues. Wehad to go to dinner after our dinner!!!"
