I went for my birthday dinner last night! Everything was excellent as far as the food goes, we weren’t served our palate cleanser, I think our server forgot, my favorite thing about the night was the buttermilk pie, it is to die for! View menu

This is one of the best restaurants in the United States; I fly from Boston to Knoxville a few times a year to go here with friends. Please remember that the fixings, the sides are the most important part of the meal. Make sure they are astounding each time.

It's funny, I was writing a review for a horrible experience at another restaurant today and remembered that I had forgotten to write our review about how wonderful this place is! We made a reservation for our 5th wedding anniversary and were seated in an adorable/private area. Our server was spectacular! She was so friendly and attentive. My husband and I just enjoyed our anniversary (and first time dining) at the Foothills Milling Company. We had the fried green tomato’s, Caesar salad, wedge salad, Steak Potatoes and 3-cheese lasagna (from the vegetarian menu). We also had a few surprises from the chef along with incredible bread. Very disappointing. My sister comes to visit and one of our highlights is to have a nice dinner together. We made reservations and showed up a bit early. There was a pushy customer in front of us that “just had to” get some cocktails. Hostess informed them that the bar was full. That party then commanded all three of the hostess/staff that were in the front for the next fifteen minutes and not one person from staff bothered to so much as recognized we were there. Absolutely amazing. A perfect place for a fancy date night! The biggest thing was they had menu items that fit my specific dietary needs, which is incredible. (Plant based, gluten free, soy free). The waitress was extremely thoughtful and kind. The background noise was a bit loud due to it being a lot of people in the room, but the experience was still enjoyable and worth the major splurge of a perfect date night with candle light. I took my husband here for his birthday from recommendations from a friend and the great reviews online. The ambiance was lovely, but when we sat down the waiter seemed rush and not informative at all. We had never dined here before and I was expecting the “have you dined with us before, or are we here for a special occasion” and we got nothing.
